New tubes will be placed In the boiler, flie cylinder will be bored, and new piston rods and couplings mauV, besides repairs to the wood work. The Columbia. Iron Works, Messrs. Earl & Freeman, are doing some fine work now for the railroad company. They are manufacturing twenty-five tons of bolts, and forty tons of castings to be used in the trestle work within the city limits. Another flying machine was in yester day morning, from the Walluskl, cover ed with mud. The pilot says that he got along 'swimmingly, and was thinking of invHmg the Judge and eornmissloner to make a trip with him In order to see how It wias pjHlble to overcome the deficierw of the county roads. A. M. Borland, the "safe expert" from Portland, Is In town and will remain only two or three days. He will be glad to attend to any safe work.
