Time for the first round was about to be called when Ryan made another La Blanche swing at Wilson, catching him fairly on the chin. .Wilson struck the lloor like a ton of brick. He lay still for a moment, and then tried to regain his feet, but was too weak. He managed finally to arise, at which Ryan rushed toward him. His seconds pulled him away. It only took a second to show that one or two of the guy ropes of the parachute were broken, and that article was rendered useless. With the rapidity of lightning the unfortunate aeronaut dropped to the earth. The crowd rushed to the scene, only to find the man in a crushed condition Just to the rear of Mr. Duf fy's residence on the hill. His collar bone and left ankle were both broken and he was soon conveyed to St. Mary s hospital, where Dr. Bartel looked after his wounds. The nerve of the man was well Il lustrated when he found the parachute unmanageable. He threw off various articles of clothing. Up to the last mo ment he retained full command of his senses.
