He claims that a saving of nearly one-half the expense to tax-payers will be made by utilising the power at the waterworks to run the city's own plant It Is estimated that the power will be sufficient to furnish all the lights ne cessary at present and for some time to come. A large number of men were yesterday unable to go to the railroad camps because the steamer was off her run. The contractors seem to be buying up all the scows and employing all the men In this part of the country. The steamer State brought up quiet a number of railroad men looking for work, who will be glwm employment at once.
