London. April 9. The Times will to
morrow publish a dispatch from Its
oorrespondenit at Shanghai saying that
a Japamwte man of war has selied the
Biiuiah steamer Ylk Sang outokle Va
kuvo, having on board 22,000 cartridges
shipped at Shanghai by a respectable
German Arm as "Bamboo and Steel."
The owners of the Ylk Bang, It Is
added( accepted the shipment 1n good
faith.

This morning Judge John Sahler blew
out his brains at bis Omaha residence.
He left a note attributing bis act to
financial troubles. 9ehler has been a
banker, laiwyer, and lobbyist in Ne
braska for a quarter of a century,
J. J. Jones, an Omaiha Icwyer, wrote
a long letter to ithe press and disap

be dead before the letter was received.
He claims he bad lost his wife's for
tune , and ooultd not face her. His
friends think bis mUnld gave way and
that he has suicided.
