went to Portland Wednesday. Mr. Ly

and visit his Alma Matar Forest Grove
University.
Preparations have been made for
Christmas Tre"j exercises on Christmas
eve. The exercises will be held at the
residence of Mr. JosJah West, oid will
consist of a literary and musical pro
gram, followed by gomes and general
amusement till 11 o'clock, when refresh
ments will be served.
Mr. H. Bturrick will leave for Florida
In a few days for the benefit of his
health.
There will be tow weeks' holidays at
Clatsop stfhool, which finishes the first
four months of the school year.
