Robert Llddell, having ec cepted a call to the Presbyterian churcl of this city, has resigned tho pastorate of the Presbyterian church at Everett Wash., and, as will be seen by the announcement in another place, will preach to his new charge tomorrow Mr. Llddell comes to his new field vcrj highly recommended. A MUSICAL TREAT. A grand vocal and Instrumental con cert will be given on July 4, 1894, by the following distinguished artists: Ilerr August Aamold, the celebrated Norwegian violinist; Herr Ruthyn Tur- ney, viola, assisted by the "Schubert Club" of Astoria, at the Methodist EpU copal church, Astoria, for the benefit of tho musical fund of the church. Kinney runs the largest salmon packing institution in the world; he Is as well posted on fish and fishing as any other man, and he Is now In favor of abolishing traps and wheels. He Is aware that they are ruining the Indus, try, Mr. Kinney takes the broad view of this question. He takes the view that any broad-guaged man would who Intends to remain In the business. He is here to stay; all his interests are here. while on the other hand, most of the cannerymen who are defending the traps and wheela are here to make a fortune to take some place else.
