Colfax, Wash., Feb. 13. In the su perior court today George F. Parker, under arrest for the murder of A. B. Cooper at Pullman on the morning of October 17,, was discharged, but lmme dlately re-arrested on complaint of Sheriff Lath mm. He will have a pre liminary examination tomorrow. The murder of Cooper was accomplished by a burglar, and Parker next day was ar rested on suspicion. He was very reti cent, and would tell nothing of his past history. The only clue was a pistol with which the murder was done, and a pair of burglar's nippers, which were found In the back yard of tho hotel after the murder. Sheriff Lathrum had tho ac cused man photographed, and the pic ture Was recognized as that of nn ex- convict at tho Oregon penitentiary, whore , he reoelved a sentpneo under the names of Graft and HUlyard. RUSSELL UNDER ARREST. Springfield III.. Fob. 15.-Actlng Gov. Gill today 'honored a requisition from Gov. Pennoyer, of Oregon, for George V. Russell, wanted in Linn county, Ore Russell was Short In his accounts, and forged the name of Yost to cover his shortage. He Is now under arrest at Bushnell, McDonough county, where he has wealthy and prominent relations. IMPROVING ITS SERVICE. Chicago. Feb. 15.
