St, Paul, July 25, Five days of the hottest weather known In the north west In ten years have seriously dam agd the wheat crop. The farmers fig ure on only 40 to CO per cent of an ordinary cwp. The situation In North Dakota Is worse than In. Minnesota: ns the estimated crop runs as low as 25,000,000 bushels. The average yield will hardly lie above eight bushels per acre: The potato crop Is also being ru'nod by the drouth. EXCURSION TRAIN WRECKED: Cleveland, July 25. A World's Fair excursion on the Baltimore and Ohio road was wrecked near Akron th's morning: In all twentythree persons were seriously hurt, three fatally: The accident was due to defective ties on a sharp curve. A PROBABLE SHIPWRECK. San Francisco, July 25: A large ship. apparently inbound. Is reported to be drifting toward shore off Point Reyes: Owing to a dense fog her name has not been ascertained.
