Ward have gone to Tacoma on a visit
of a few weeks.
Mr- Ralph Hanna, formerly clerk In

city. He will remain for a week.
Mis. W. S. Randell, of Tillamook,
formerly Miss Sarah Snow, of Astoria,
died on the 11th lnt., after a painful
Illness of several mouths.
Mr. S. H. Bell, of South Bend, son
of Captain George W. Bell, the new

passed through town yesterday.

surance Company, of San Francisco,

Of the withdrawal from the state of
Oregon of the State Investment & In
surance Company, of San Francisco,
California, and to all other persons In
terested, that the said company lias
reinsured Its business In the State of
Oregon, in the Fireman's Fund Insur
ance Company, of San Francisco, Cali
fornia, and has filed notice thereof with
the secretary of state, of said state,
and proposes to withdraw its securi
ties on deposit with the treasurer there
of, and to cease doing business in said
state.
Any policy holder In the State of
Oregon, or any other person having
claims against said Insurance company,
are hereby notified to file the same with
secretary of tate of the state of Or
