Callahan Is a morphine fiend, having used the drug hypodermlcally for five years. During the course of his examination by Dr. Baker, he stated that he was 27 years old, a native of San Francisco and that he came here from Portland, where he had been for about eighteen months. He stated that he was in the habit of taking sixty grains of mor phene dally when he could get It.
