Maddock went up on the Tele- A meeting of the Columbia River Fishermen's Protective Union was held at Liberty hall last night. There were a large number of fishermen present The main subject under discussion was the fixing of a price on salmon for the coming season. Several speeches were made on the subject, many of those present advocating a $1.25 rate. Milder counsel prevailed; however, and It was finally decided to stand by a rate of $1.15 per fish. Two men in the hall spoke for a $1.50 rate and had to be re moved from the meeting. It will be seen by a notice in another column that the Union Intends to make public at once the result of the conference.
