British ship Es Kasonl, went to Fair-
haven Thursday to hold a survey on the
British ship Formosa and report on the
condition of the vessel as found by an
examination of her bottom, made by
Sub-Marine Diver Harmon. The du
ties of the diver were completed about
noon, after which they went to the
bank where the vessel rested and made
a thorough examination. They report
ed that the vessel, as far as can be
seen, Is uninjured, and the nature of
the bottom of the bank is without
boulders, rocks or logs, being smooth
and grassy. Therefore, the board of
surveyors pronounce the Formosa in a
seaworthy condition to continue her

egraphed his report to Lloyds, and the
deck cargo will be replaced. After
making all ready for the voyage the
Bhlp will once more tow to sea.

The British ship Achnashle arrived
In San Francisco on Friday afternoon,
335 days from Port Glasgow, via the
Cape of Good Hope. The cause of the
long passage was a hurricane off
Cape Horn that- threw her on
her beam ends, shifted cargo, started
several plates, and stripped the decks
of everything movable. When she
commenced to leak It was deemed ad
visable to keep away before the wind
across the southern Atlantic and In
dian oceans, and "come west by sailing
east." At Cape Town she docked, dis
charged, and sailed again on the 23d
of November, finishing the long voy
age via New Zealand.

"I desire to bear my testimony to the
value of Allcock's Porua Plasters.
I have used them for pains In the
back and side arising from rheumatic
and other causes, never without deriv

They are easily applied and very com

to sudden changes of temperature, will
do well to keep a supply of Allcock's
