The blunder of an ignorant official has given to the visit here of an American named Jns. W. Cnmming of Buffalo, a degree of publicity which brought his sojourn hero to a hurried conclusion. The of ficial interpreted the common place signature of a citizen of the Gieat Be pnblio into "James tho First, King of Buffalo ," and in this shape ifc was printed in tho paper. The effect on tho more ignorant of the Carlsbadians was simply astounding. The modest pseudo monarch was at once set upon at his hotel by a mob of tradesmen, beggars, tuft-hunters, promoters of stock companies and schemes for the greatest or less civilization of the Dark Continent, this being tho latest German fad. The unfortunate Amer ican was compelled to incontinently flee before the storm and leave by the first available train. RAILS IN BOND. PATROHIZE HOME IHDUSTRY! LOOKS LIKE SHJEV SOCIETY XEETINUH.
