Hundreds of Homeless People Being Oared for by Priends Some of the Dead Pound. Special by The United Fntss. TVxuixxGTOx, Del., Oct. a The men killed in the powder explosion last night were all working iu aM about the magazines and mills, and except iu the cases of three, "William Greeu, William McGarvy and Patrick Dougherty, were blown to pieces, so that only fragments of their remains have been found. The body of Patrick Dougherty was found this morning in the water of a mill race along the creek where it had been thrown by the explosion. Green's body was found just outsido tho ruins of the magazine in, which tho first explosion occurredfand strange to say it was uot mangled or burned. It is the theory of the workmen that the explosions were started in some way by a soldering iron that Green "was using iu soldering tin covers on tho cans of iiowder. This worlc is ex treme!' dangerous nud Green wrs the only man trusted to perform it. He was an old employo who thoroughly understood the work, but is supposed his soldering iron becamo too hot and its heat fired the powder in spite of his carefulness. Green and McGarvey were the only men in the magazine- at tho time. Tho wounded aro being cared for by neighbora and friends, the dead bodies have been prepared for burial, and three or four hnndrcd homeless people are provided with comfortable quarters by friends, and they will be looked after until their homes can bo restored.
