Her height is 7 feet 10 inches, and her weight 225 pounds. She is, therefore, rather slender for her height. The young lady has been in tho habit of having her shoes made bv a cobbler in the country place near where she lives, and the latter evidently has not been fit ting her as well as he should. One of her old shoes, which was sent here with the order for the new pair, is a rather crude conception of what a shoe ought to be, and tho way it has been we: a would indicate that the lady has corns. Prolonged cheers.J A. frightful gasoline accident oc curred at the residenco of Mr. George E. Fricud in Dayton, Ohio, on the af ternoon of tho 15th of September, ia which Mr. Friend wa3 badly burned about tho hands and body, while Dr. F. W. Thomas, a leading homeopathic physician received injuries that will probably result fatally. Mr. Friend, it seems, was using tho gasoline for the purpose ot Killing motus in the carpet and furniture of his parlor, and had saturated the articles in the room with four gallons of the fluid. At this moment Dr. Thomas, who had been on the second floor attend ing Mr. Friend's sick child, came down and was met at the parlor door by Mr. Friend. The latter opened the door sufficiently to allow the vapor to escapo into an adjoining room, in which a grate fire was burn ing, when instantly a violent explo sion followed, blowing out doors and windows and filling the lower Boors with a mass of flame. Both men were hurled tlirongh a doorway to the street. Dr. Thomas, blinded, his clothing ablaze and his face pre senting a sickening mass of cooked and blackened flesh, staggered across the street into tho residence of Mrs. Charles Huffman. He was unrecog nized and Ins nppearanco was so frightful that the inmates fled in alarm to tho street. Assistance quickly arrived, how ever, when the extent of his injuries was revealed. Tho flesh on lioth arras was burned from the shoulders to the fin ger tips, leaving the muscles and sur face blood-vessels bare. His cloth ing from hh hips down was also burned to a crisp and part of both shoes. His breast, though, and eyes, escaped. His face and beard presented a horriblo disfigurement. The skin had peeled and burned into crisps, which broke off at the touch. Tho lip3 were burned black, his mustache, whiskers and eyelashes wcro singed into a crisp, and his hair burned to the roots in the scalp. Despite his snffer iugs and until placed under the in fluence of morphiuc he was able to relate tho incidents of tho terrible affair. He said that he believed his lungs were all right, and that realiz ing on tho instant the dangers of the explosion he had stopped inhalation. Dr. Thomas' condition continued to grow worse until shortly after mid night, when ho died. A mammoth loaf of bread, two feet square aud one foot thick, weighing firty pounds, was received recently at the "White house.
