WEATHER IIUIIEAU KEPORT.
Week Endins Satni'day. ,luno 2Sth. for
Orcson.
The cool, cloudy and showory
weather ol the previous Avcek con
tinued up to to-day, it is now clear
and very warm. The weather that
has prevailed lias been worth untold
wealth to the producers of Oregon,
and from even- secJion comes the most
flattering and encouraging reports.
The rains were especially copious in
the "Willamette valley and along the
coast, whore from 1 to '.i inches fell.
In southern Oregon over 1 inch fell at
Koscburg but decreased southward to
Jackson county where less than one
half inch fell. In eastern Oregon
more than the average June rain-fall
has fallen varying from 1 to 2 inches.
The rains were most opportune and
have given new life to all growing
vegetation.
Fall and early sown wheal is now
thought iobe past any harm from at
mospheric causes. It is filling well
and of good quality, stools large and
8t;uid very good. The crop
will be from present appearances, more
than an average one; from Umatilla
come rejKirlslhal it will be the largest
crop ever harvested in the county.
Late sown spring wheal is coming up
and fair ields or good hay crops will
le obtained from it. From ever- sec
tion of. the Willamette valley reports
are encouraging showing an enthusi
astic feeling among the farmers. Some
clover hay was down when the rains
began, and w:ls slightly damaged.
Timothy has been greatly improved.
Oats are doing well. Corn is thriving,
but in sections of eastern Oregon the
weather is too cool. Hops are grow
ing finely and give promise of a good
yield. Jn Gilliam and Morrow, rye
harvest is in progress and yields very
good.
Godliu moths have not done any
damage yet Spraying is however
recommended :is a preventative.
Peaches and apples short crop in
southern Oregon, other fruits vcr
plentiful. The otaio jield promises
to bo the largest in the history of the
stale. Every sect ion reports them
doing finely. Tin.mgli the slock
country grass on the ranfe is good
and cattle are in prime condition.
The rain extended through Crook,
trant and olhui inU.- jor count"10
