W She ?aitjj torim ASTORIA. OREGON: SCX DAY .MAUCnsO. 1890 City and CouhIj Official Paper. REPCBLICAX DELEGATES. 1st view ot the proceedings at the Republican meeting last evening, and the primaries to be beld to-morrow, Tire Astoklvk suggests that it would be a good idea for the convention called for the 9th of April to confine itself on that date to the selection of seven delegates to the Republican state convention, and postpone the nomination of a county ticket till the first week in lay. It also suggests that there are not enough Republicans in Clatsop county to make two Republican parties; there are enough to make things prosperous for one Republican party. Democratic fights are like cat fights; Ibey always result iu more cats; Re publican fights do not augment party strength to any satisfactory degree. The regular army always gets away with the militia, and organization, harmony and unity of purpose are requisite for party success. There were Republican delegates chosen last night; there will be Re publican delegates regularly chosen at the primaries to-morrow, and the delegates to the state convention elected by the convention in which tho delegates to to chosen to-morrow will participate, will be the delegates recognized by the committee on credentials in the state convention. GOOD EYAinTOas, If women would set a good example it would soon reform the world, as the men are continually following after the women. If a woman could talk out of the two corners of her month at the same time there would be a good deal said on both sides. Tho Dra. Damn want just such advocates. No one tongue or corner of the mouth can tell of the wonderful cures they are making daily at their offices. The few following testimonials substantiate their wonderful skill: Tied Columbian is resorting to the most desperate lying in an effort to in duce the three or four who are still paying for 'advertisements' in that pa per to continue their patronage during April. "Just one month more, please," A Taconia JIaa Cared of Dlscktnrlar Ears. Mr. Editor Dear Sir: 1 have had a discharging ear ever since I was a child (twenty-five years). I have been under treament with the best spe cialists in this country and Europe without nny benefit I applied to the Drs. Darrin. Ho pronounced my case curable, audi put myself under his care, but very doubtful of ever being cured. I can now say that I am en tirely cured, and I have had no dis charge since the first treatment, over a month ago, which proves tho cure is permanent beyond a doubt I can be referred to at 1,927 E street Tacoma. Before I came to him 1 could scarcely walk to tho office. Refer to me at Vancouver. Wash. C. P. McFariiAITe. Total Deafness Cared. This is to certify that I was totally deaf in one ear, with a constant ring ing noise; also a disagreeable discharge from the ear for a long time. I ap plied to Dr. Darrin, and am now per fectly cured. I live at 311 South Sec ond street, Portland, and will gladly state my case to anyone. Feed Polieb. Dra. No go; Astoriaus are not to be ' fooled, and no one in this city is taken in by the Columbian's falsehoods ex cept the three or four who are paying Tor their ''advertisements' in that pa per, while the majority pay no cash for the worthless space they occupy. The Columbian's lies are so trans parent, and so plainly prompted by malice and meanness that they don't deserve the space devoted to showing their motive. Honest ignorance is to be excused, but such gross and palpa ble lies as daily appear in tho Colum bian are too contemptible for serious notice. concerning sucn .cases, owing to tne delicacy in the press of the patients.
