ment forinB a co-operalion to be
known aa the Union Pacific, Denver
& Gulf railway, which will absorb the
Fort "Worth road and,, the Colorado
lines of the Union, Pacific, escebfe tho
old South Park road, now known as-
the Denver, Leadville and Guuniaon.
The basis of the new company will be
on the same lines as those of the
Oregon Short line Consolidated com
pany. The Union Pacific will put in
the Colorado Central, the Deuver,
Marshall & Boulder, the Cheyenne &
Northern, etc., but will issue no new
securities and assume no new obli
gations. It will operate about 1400
mile3 from Cheyenne and Denver to
the Gulf otMexico.

A Bark Wrecked.
Asbdby Park, Nov. 27 .The bark
Oei'mani a, loaded with empty oil bar
rels and rags, was wrecked to-night
at Long Branch. Before the lifeline
could be shot out Jo her, the vessel's
spar went overboard and the vessel
quickly went to pieces and disap
peared. Five of the sailors were,
rescued. Captain Windhorst arid
eight Bailors were drowned. When.
the vessel struck, the captaiu, it i
said, was drunk. He drew a revol
ver to shoot the man at the .wheel
when a wave swept him into the sea.
The bark sailed from SettlnV Septem
ber 30, for New York.
