I have tested its curative power, in my family, many times during the past thirty years, "and have never known it to fail. It will relieve the most serious affections of the throat and lungs, whether in children or adults." Mrs. E. G. Edgerly, Council Blufls, Iowa. "Twenty years ago I was troubled J with a disease ol tlie lungs, uoctors afforded me no relief and considered my case hopeless. I then began to use Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, and, before I had finished one bottle, found relief. I continued to take this medicine until a cure was effected. I believe that Ayer's Cherry Pectoral saved my life." Samuel Griggs, "Waukegau, 111. " Six years ago I contracted a severe cold, which settled on my lungs and soon developed all the alarming symp toms of Consumption. I had a cough, night sweats, bleeding of the lungs, pains in chest and sides, and was so prostrated as to be confined to my bed most of the time. After trying various prescriptions, without benefit, "my physician finally determined to give me Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. I took it, and the effect was magical. I seemed to rally from fhc first dose of this medicine, and, after using only threo bottles, am as well and sound as ever." Rodney Johnson, Springfield, 111. "Is there a Mr. Johnson in the car?" called the conductor, as he en tered a coaoh on the Lehigh valley train and held up-a telegram to view'. "There is!" replied three men in chorus, as they rose up. ''But this dispatch is for John Johnson." "That's me!" replied two of the men, while the third looked relieved and sat down. "Which of you is married?" contin ued the conductor. "I am!" both answered. "Well, I think this dispatch relates to the birth of twins at home and is congratulatory." "That lets me out, thank Heaven!" exclaimed one Johnson, as he sat down to wipe his brow, while the other flushed red and white for a mo ment and then received the dispatch. Every family should be provided with a bottle of Ayer's Cherry Pec toral. It is a specific for colds and coughs. Fashiouahle society is something too formal for an institution, too ir regnlar for an "organization, too vi tal for a machine, too heartless for a fraternity, too -lawless for a school, too decent for a masquerade, with too much lyiug for a bureau anil too many passions for a pageant. There are the competitions, matches, risks, calculations of a perilous game, tho interchanges of an impouderable, immaterial commerce, musical voices from inharmonious breasts, spiteful courtesies, magnificent meannesses. There aro songs of pence, flyiug ar rows of malice and revenge, bonds and fragments of friendship?, charm ing veils over hidden horrors, lnngh ter rippling over dark depths of silent agony. One has only to reflect a moment how considerable a section of tho lives of many men and more women these activities occupy, what capacities they inclnde, what forces they eugago, tho interplay between life and life, tho issues aud destiny of character, the august responsibil ity, to comprehend that society, even in this limited sense, is a Rtudy for the wisest minds. No fictitious, certificates, bnt solid facts, testify the marvelous cures by Ayer's Sasarparilh. Joaquin Miller sketches the pre valent demagogue very closely in a recent letter to an exchange. He sa3s: uYon can hear him howling against monpoly, trusts, aud rail roads, lie raves aud roars against monopolists! He is with the people and for the people forever. He uses the names of Lincoln and Gladstone as if there were still a third great name on the list which his modesty forbids him to mention. I have only time to say here, my fellow toilers in tho front lino of toil, my fellow founders of states, beware of this nrraut impostor." Exactly What is Sought Arte r.
