Suffering in Labrador.
Quebec, Oct. 20. Captain Lemay,
who has just arrived from Labrador,
tells stories o incredible suffering
among the fishermen. He says one
family in Natashquan lived on the
carcass of a dog for three days, when
the youngest child, then the mother,
and then the oldest daughter, suc
cumbed to their intense sufferings,
leaviug tho starving husband and eld
est son without strength and means
to secure decent burial for their dead
until succored by the neighbors.
From Hopedale it is reported that
a father and mother subsisted on the
body of their six-monlhs-old infant
for days, only then to follow the child
