Dynamite ex ploded to-day in a cartridge factory in the vicinity of the bourse, killing many persons and doing much dam age to property. Portions of the bourse were Btruck by burning frag ments and set on fire, causing a panio in the building, which was crowded. The explosion occurred in a work shop where old cartridges were being taken to pieces. Men and women were actively at work breaking them up and 25,500,000 had been partly broken. The fire is still raging and now cov ers two acres. The flames shoot up to an immense hight. Amid the roar of flames there is a continuous suc cession of loud reports, supposed to be from the ignition and. explosion of pockets of cartridges. Beyond the Russian tanks aud No bles' sheds there are numerous houses burning. The shipping at the African and American docks is in danger. The nnmber of deaths will reach 200. About 500 persons were injured. The loss will be many million francs. It will be impossible to ex tinguish the flames in less than twenty-four hours. Several vessels have been burned.
