Yon don't know how to dress them, and about one-quarter of the flesh is wasted in the process. It is easy enough to cook them. Put them into a pot of water, throw in some.salt and lot them boil. By and by the flesh boils ofT the bones, aud then you regret not having studied up on this matter of cooking. If one is really hungry the chances are thai he will have to walk two or three miles to procure a pint of milk aud a few eggs from some farmer's wife. Eggs are a food peculiarly fit for the camper out, in that everybody knows how to cook them. But the best way is to beat them all up together and soramble them. You proceed to break them, one by one, in a tin dipper, daubing your hands and clothing liberally in the opera tion. The last one is stale, aud you suddenly decide you do uot caro for eggs that day. With average camp ing luck there will be a smart shower every day, clearing off soou enongh for your traps to dry before the next one comes along to wot them again, Here is an extract from a letter written in camp, which will illustrate some of the beauties of the life: "Howard and Dick have gone ofl gunning, or trying to gun: Joe is out side the tent, busy abont something, and I have the first peaceful moment I have had since we came here.
