A state ment issued by the bureau of statistics of the treasury department shows that during May our export trade amounted to $52,169,197, and im ports to SG8,724,994; exports of gold, 813484,783, and imports S753,89i; ex ports of silver, S4,449,77G, and im ports 81,930,729. Immigration during the mouth was 74,291 persons, being a decrease of-over 24,000 from the same month of 1888. For eleven months ending May 31, tho immigration was 392,550. as against 471,310 for the same time in the previous year. Under Ostranders and Uaird timber proofs were set more than a year alirnil, and the notices must all bo published ataiu so that proof can bo made within ninety days after publication. Tho governor of Monaco in a letter announces that the stockholders in the Monto Carlo gambling rooms are unusually jnbilaut over the season which liaB just closed.
