Potter will probably be brought from
the Sound.
C. F. Majhew, aged G3 years, has
been missing two days and his family'
fear suicide.

Owing to various telegraphic dis
patches which have been received
here concerning the alleged landing
of i second boat at CapePerpetua, the
public had been led into believing
that a greater number of the Alas
kan people were saved than in reality
reached the shore.
Mr. O'Brien said: "I left Florence
yesterday morning with a party of ten
men and reached Yaquina at 2 o'clock
in the afternoon. The dispatch re
ceived in Portland was calculated to
mislead many who read it, as it was
thought ours was another crowd than
the one it was. There has been but
one boat saved and the supposition is,
of course, that all others have per
ished.
"I am a messenger sent out by the
O. B. fc N. Co., and I found the men
at Florence in sad condition. The
people there were very kind though in
assisting me to make them comfort
able. They had lost their shoes and
clothing, but I soon got them re-outfitted
in good clothes."

Bobbin's estate petition presented and
allowed.
The road from Olney to Greenville
was discussed, Wm. Chance, N. D.
Baymond and J. F. Bender were ap
pointed commissioners.
The court appointed W. II. Ken
nedy, Emil Adler and J. W. Babbidge
commissioners to determine matter of
bridge for railroad across Young's bay.
