Work is to be becun on the new theater at once. Uol. Wood, the theatrical architect, arrived in the city this morning. The O. R. & N. Co. has not yet fully decided as to what boat to put on the Ilwaco route. The inspectors say a .stern wheeler will not be aiiowett on account ot the rough water at the lower end of the route. The T. J. Potter will probably be brought from the Sound. C. F. Majhew, aged G3 years, has been missing two days and his family' fear suicide. SOME MOItE BURYIYOES. Louis O'Brien arrived in the city this morning in charge of the survi vors of the Alaskan, who landed with Edward Warde in the life boat. No. :5, on Cape Perpetna Wednesday morn ing. Mr. U Jtsnen's party consists ol Ed Burns, coal passer; E. A. Carlton, mess man; E. Wencal, chief cook; J. Murray, coal passer; Jas. MeNew ley. second cook; M. Keeler, fireman; M. McLain, oiler; Ed Sharpless, coal passer; Harry Johnson, seaman; and Jack Boss, coal passer. Owing to various telegraphic dis patches which have been received here concerning the alleged landing of i second boat at CapePerpetua, the public had been led into believing that a greater number of the Alas kan people were saved than in reality reached the shore. Mr. O'Brien said: "I left Florence yesterday morning with a party of ten men and reached Yaquina at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The dispatch re ceived in Portland was calculated to mislead many who read it, as it was thought ours was another crowd than the one it was. There has been but one boat saved and the supposition is, of course, that all others have per ished. "I am a messenger sent out by the O. B. fc N. Co., and I found the men at Florence in sad condition. The people there were very kind though in assisting me to make them comfort able. They had lost their shoes and clothing, but I soon got them re-outfitted in good clothes." corxir conn troceedisgs The county court met yesterday morning. In the matter of C. O. Bobbin's estate petition presented and allowed. The road from Olney to Greenville was discussed, Wm. Chance, N. D. Baymond and J. F. Bender were ap pointed commissioners. The court appointed W. II. Ken nedy, Emil Adler and J. W. Babbidge commissioners to determine matter of bridge for railroad across Young's bay. Adjourned sine die. A LUCKY TIUAL, The Cootl Fortune Which Followed It affords me great pleasure to send to you this voluntary statement of my expe; rience In testing the merits of Joy's Vege table Earsaparilla. For the past five years I have hcen troubled with an ex ceedingly sluggish liver, including loss of appetite and distress after eating, pains In the back and kidneys, and boils around my neck and lace. I tried many liver remedies, only getting temporary relief: I was recommended to try a bottle of Joy's Vegetable Sarsaparilla as a test, and while taking tho first bottle I became eon vinccd of itsmcrits, for I could feel that it was working a change in me. I took" five bottles, and during that time mjr troubles left me. Everything is working full and regular, in fact it has clcansedj purified and braced mo up generally.
