A friend induced me to try Ayer's Sarsaparilla. Loss than throo bottles healed the sore. In all my expe rience with medicine, I never saw more Wonderful Results. Another marked. effect of tho use of this medicine was the strengthening of my sight." Mrs. Carrie Adams, Holly Springs, Texas. " I had a dry scaly humor for years, and suffered terribly ; and, as my broth er and sister were similarly afrlictod, I presume tho malady is hereditary. Last winter. Dr. Tyron, (of Fornandina, Fla.,) recommended me to take Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and continue it for a year. For fivo months I took it daily. I havo not had a blemish upon mv body for the last three months." T. E. Wiley, 116 Chambers St., New York City. "Last fall and winter I was troubled with a dull, heavy pain in my side. I did not notice it much at first, but it gradually grow worse until it became almost unbearable. During the latter part of this time, disorders of the stom. ach and liver increased my troubles. I began taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and, after faithfully continuing the use o( this medicine for some months, the pain disappeared and I was completely cured." Mrs. Augusta A. "Pickled whitefish" are much more satisfactory to tho immagination than the weakfish which represent them in the market. "Cod steaks'' sound promising, even when cut from the savage wolffish. "Kennebec salmon" are always in demand, whether from Maine or in the guise of redfish and steelhead from Oregon. It is, there fore, with little surprise we hear just at this time of the wonderful din ners provided by a celebrated res taurateur in Washington, with "young halibut" as the chief attrac tion, transformed and idealized from the homely and humblo winter'white fisb, which has approached our shores, not to thrill epicures, but to deposit its eggs peacefully. We are reminded of a circumstance in a noted coffee-house in Melbourne a few years ago which created a good deal ofiexcitcment. The proprie tor introduced a fish of surpassing sweetness and delicacy ot flavor, un der the name of "Sweet William." His patrons eagerly devoured "Sweet William," and the fish had a tremendous run. It was tender, jacy and entirely free from bones. All went swimmingly for a time. Inquiries failed to reveal the name of the new favorite until one day somebody saw a barrelful of young sharks go into the establishment, to be translated into "Sweet William." Then the volume of business suddenly shrunk and the air was black with threats of suits of damages by enraged cus tomers. And so that's what's in a name. American Analyst. A Hound's Tight With a lynx. A man working on Joseph Paul's farm on Dry Greek, was awakened early Thursday morning by hearing sounds of a straggle in the yard be tween animals. Getting up and look ing from the window he saw the hound and some strange animal fighting. Grabbing a gun, he rushed out Tho animal on seeing him broke away from the dog and endeav ored to escare, but being overtaken by the dog and driven back, ho en deavored to get under the bouse. When half way under the dog seized him and pulled him back. The an imal broke away and again essayed to get under the house, when the man struck him, breaking' the stock off the gun. The animal got under the house, whero the dog was unablo to follow. On inspection later in the morning the brute was found to be dead. When dragged -from -under the house it proved to be a large lynx, weighing about 100 ponnds, and capable of giving a man a hard tussle. Walla Walla Union.
