Ayer'3 Hair Vigor keeps tho hair soft and pliant, imparts to it the lustre and freshness of youth, causes it to grow luxuriantly, eradicates Dandruff, cures all scalp diseases, and is the most clean ly of all hair preparations. AVpR'Q Hair Vigor has given me m lt 1 o perfect satisfaction. I was nearly hald for six years, during which time I used many hair preparations, hut without success. Indeed, what little hair I had was growing thinner, until I tried Ayer's Hair Vigor. I used two bottles of the Vigor, and my head is now well covered with a new growth of hair. Judson B. Chapel, Peabody, Mass. U AID that has become weak, gray, nrtin ana faded, may have new life and color restored to it hy tho use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. My hair was thin, faded, and dry, and fell out in largo quantities. Ayer's Hair Vigor stopped the falling, and restored my hair to its original color. As a dressing for tho hair, this preparation has no equal. Mary N. Hammond, Stillwater, Minn. 1lfiflR yuth ana- hcaury, in tho V lUUrij appearance of tho hair, may be preserved for an indefinite period by tho use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. A dis ease of tho scalp caused my hair to be como harsh and dry, and to fall out freely. Nothing I tried seemed to do me any good until I commenced using Ayer's Hair Vigor. Three bottles of this preparation restored my hair to a healthy condition, and it is now soft and pliant. My scalp is cured, and it is also free from dandruff. Mrs. E. U. Foss, Milwaukee, "Wis. The Experience of the Oldest and Best , Known Business Men. Too much money is spent on "snap" advertising schemes. I venture the assertion that fully one-third of the money spent in this country for advertising is spent on the new schemes "fakes," they are called in the language of the craft introduced by itiner ant solicitors. The oldest, and perhaps the most worthless of the schemes de vised to pull the dollars from the business man's pocket is the "ho tel card," printed on common col ored card-board and varying in size from Cx9 to 11x14, or a quar ter sheet of card-board according to the gullibility of the business men approached in the interests of the scheme. These cards, which are fastened to the inside of the bedroom doors, contain the rules of the hotel, occupying a compar atively infinitesimal space, and the remainder is filled with advertise ments, representing every business in the town. Imagine the specta cle of a traveler, on a cold morn ing, with one trousers leg on, and hopping about the room in the ef fort to preserve his equilibrium while he encases his nether limb in the refractory division imag ine him, with chattering teetli and "goose-pimpled" anatomy stop ping to read about "tho Leading Dry Goods House," "Staple and Fancy Groceries," "Free Deliv ery," "Our Motto One Price to All," "Largo Stock of Cooking Stoves." "Capital Stock, 100,- 000," "Satisfaction Guaranteed," and other information of a like nature! From twenty to fifty of these cards are printed, at a cost of the getter-up of four or five dollars; while he may receive for the ad vertisements 35 or 40 very good'wages for a few hours' work. The cards ho gives to the hotel proprietor in exchange for his board. One of the grandest swindles I call to mind now was that perpe trated on the business men of a southern Kansas town about two years ago by a "town clock" scheme. Two smooth tongupd strangers induced twenty or muro merchants to take space on a cir cular board about three feet in di ameter, which was hoisted on a pole at a street corner. In the center of the board was a cheap clock, and around spaces in which advertisements were painted. The expense of this board to the adver tisers was, if mv memory serves me right, S1G0, at least $140 of which was clear profit for the so licitor's three days work. In a week tho clock succumbed to old Sol and the rain; while the same forces caused the paint to fade and peel offand there it stood, and yet stands for aught I know, a one hundred and sixty-dollar Hitching post! Advertisements in directories and theatrical and other pro grammes are not worth the time consumed in writing them; and money so expended is absolutely thrown away. The same is true of fence-board advertising, except the consent of the farmer be gained, for he will, nine times out of ten, resent the liberty taken with his boundary lines by" knock ing off the board and nailing it on again with the sign inside. Again, boards are broken, and when the fence is repaired we behold' these startling anneuncements: "Bar gains in purgative pellets at John Smith's;" "Charter Oak Stoves Cure Sick Headache." A well conducted paper is the only medium through which the advertiser can reach the people- with proht to himself, buch, at least, has been the experience of the oldest and best known adver tisers, who arrived at the conclu sion through tho expenditure of many thousand dollars in experi mental ad vertteing.Supt. F. Heustis, Professor Mobile Med. College. Has a Keen Taste for Hews. The governor of the Danish col ony of Greenland receives by the ship which brings him his annual supplies,, copies of the daily papers of Copenhagen for the year preced ing. He arranges these papers in the order of their dates, and then calmly and quietly reads a paper each day, just as though it was fresh from the press. He is some times strongly tempted to peer in to futurity by reading some papers ahead when ho comes across inter cstintr news; but he resists the temptation, no matter how anxious he is to know the fate of some measure. One day's paper for each day is his rule; and so at the end of the year he is thoroughly familiar with the news of the pre ceding year. Ho says he is just as happy as though he pulled each day's paper off Ahe press. , The Goad llcalthward Hade Easier. You have hecn. ill. wc will suppose, and are convalescim; slowly.
