Ayer's Hair Vigor keeps the hair soft and pliant, imparts to it the lustre and freshness of youth, causes It to grow luxuriantly, eradicates Dandruff, cures all scalp diseases, and is the most clean, ly of all hair preparations. AVPR'Q k Vigor has given me ni uu ? perfect satisfaction. I was nearly bald for six years, during which time I used many hair preparations, hut without success. Indeed, what little hair I had was growing thinner, until I tried Ayer's Hair Vigor. I used two bottles of the Vigor, and my head is now well covered with a new growth of hair. Judson B. Chapel, Peabody, Mass. LI AID that has become weak, gray, I"'1' and faded, may have new life and color restored to it by the use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. My hair was thin, faded, and dry, and fell out in large quantities. Ayer's Hair Vigor stopped the falling, and restored my hair to its original color. As a dressing for the hair, this preparation has no equal. Mary N. Hammond, Stillwater, Minn. VlfiflR yutn and beauty, in the V lUUIIj appearance of the hair, may be preserved for an indefinite period by the use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. A dis ease of the scalp caused my hair to be come harsh and dry, and to fall out freely. Nothing I tried seemed to do me any good until I commenced using Aye,r's Hair Vigor. Three bottles of this preparation restored my hair to a healthy condition, and it is now soft and pliant. My scalp is cured, and it is also free from dandruff. Mrs. E. R. Foss, Milwaukee, "Wis. "Riches take unto themselves wings and fly away," said the teacher. "What kind of riches is meant?" And the 'smart boy at the foot of the class said he "reck oned they must be ostriches." An indignant parent, in rebuk ing a refractory son, exclaimed: "Remember who you are talking to, sir! I'm your father." To which the youth rejeined: "Oh, come now, I hope you ain't goin' to blame me for that!" The children in the next room were very noisy, and mamma told 4-year-old Bessie, sitting beside her, to shut the door. Bessie closed it, but the noise was still painfully audible. "Mamma," she said, looking up with a counte nance indicative of a bright idea, "Mamma, I dess I better lock it." A Kingston family moved from their house a month ago, and re cently the little girl of the family and her mother went to call on the new tenant. While there the child saw a small baby that had had arrived a few days before, and said: "Mamma, we moved too soon; we'd have got tho baby if we had staid here." "Now, Tommy, don't you feci sorry for all the naughty things you vo done to-day t ".Not now, teacher." "You don't?" "I shall be sorry, though at bed lime teach er." "Tommy!" "Well, you wouldn't have ine spoil the day bein' sorry, would you? At night I can be sorry for all my sins at once and save time." In a St. Albans church on a re cent Sunday a little lad looked on with surprise as the contribution boxes were passed around. He had an idea that the cash was being distributed gratis, and so, just as the box was leaving the pew in which he sat, he put his chubby little hand in among the change and brought out a fistful, and was quite disgusted when his mamma made him disgorge. A very observing 4-year-old came to our house one morning when the buggy was being oiled, and, in answer to his questions, found it was done to prevent the buggy from making a noise. A few days afterwards the family were very much disturbed by a cow. which kept up a continual lowing. "Why don't Will iioiid oil his cow?" asked the 4-year-old, with all seriousness, "sos she won't make so much noise?" New use for the telephone A family residing on Tibbits avenue have a 5-year-old son who can ask more questions than two grown persons can answer. The other day, after putting his mother out of all patience asking her ques sions about tho whooping, which is so prevalent just at present on Ida Hill, he was admonished to keep quiet. This he did for a few moments, when his mother was much amused at being ap proached by her hopeful, who whispered into her ear: "Mam ma, may I call- up the doctor by telephone and cough to him, and see if he thinks I have the whoop ing cough?" Troy Budget. An exceedingly expressive an swer: A lady who dresses ele gantly and belongs to the high perch of social plumage made a call recently upon a lady of her acquaintance and waited in the parlor while her card -was sent up. A tiny specimen of a girl was present, who eyed the elegant vis itor very closely and seemed much interested in her appearance. "Well, my dear," remarked the visitor, with approval, as she smoothed out her silks and laces, "what do you think of me?" "Oh," said the little girl, with the charming candor of childhood, "I've seen flounces before!" De troit Free Press. Biliousness. Oh. they say the boom is busted let 'em- say they insist that ne'er a stranger comes this way; but the skies are ever blue and the climate's tried and true and the breezes from the ocean ever play. If the boom is really busted, let 'er bust; in this wondrous country we can trust; for there's nothing like it here, on this musty, dusty sphere, and we like this land the better the more it's cussed. The resident of hades, don't for get, looks with a longing into hea ven, and regret, but he says the climate's slim, hardly rich enough for him and he wouldn't change his quarters, you can bet. So the man tied by fortune to the east, says He doesn't mind the blizzards in the least, doesn't mind the cyclone roar or the hailstorm all galore, and he wouldn't journey westward for a feast. But we hear the thousands com ing where we are, led and guided by the golden western star, com ing where the days are bright, where cool breezes give delight, and we send them kindly greet ing from afar. "By George, sir," cried the cap tain, "If I catch you walking up and down her majesty's deck with anything but her majesty's uni form on your back I'll have you tried by court martial."
