Oi failing health, whether in the form ol
Night Sweats and Nervousness, or in a
sense of General Weariness and Loss ol
Appetite, should suggest the use of
Aycr's Sarsaparillx This preparation
is most effective for giving tono and
strength to tho enfeebled system, pro
moting tho digestion and assimilation of
food, restoring tho nervous forces to
their normal condition, and for purify
ing, enriching, and vitalizing the blood.
Failing Health.
Ten years ago my health Tjegan to fail,
I was troubled with adistressinc Cough,
Night Sweats, Weakness, and Nervous
ness. I tried various remedies pro
scribed by different physicians, but
beramo so weak that I could not go up
stairs without stopping to rest. My
friends recommended mo to try Ayer's
Sarsaparilla, which I did, and 1 am now
as healthy and strong as ever. Mrs.
K. L. Williams, Alexandria, Minn.
I have used Aycr's Sarsaparilla, in my
family, for Scrofula, and know, if it is
taken faithfully, that it will thoroughly
eradicate this terrible disease. I have
also prescribed it as a tonic, as well as an
alterative, and must say that I honestly
believe it to be the best blood medicino
I'vercompounded. W. F. Fowler, M. D.,
D. D, S., Greenville, Tenn.
Dyspepsia Cured.
It would bo impossible for mo to de
scribe what I suffered from Indigestion
and Headache up to the time I began
taking Aycr's Sarsaparilla. I was under
the care of various physicians, and tried
a great many kinds of medicines, but
never obtained more than temporary re
lief. After taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla
for a short time, my headache disap
peared, and my stomach performed its
duties more perfectly. To-lay my
health is completely restored. Mary
Ilarley, Springheld, Mass.
I have been greatly benefited by the
prompt use of Aycr's Sarsaparilla. It
tones and invigorates the system, regu
lates the action of the digestive and
assimilative organs, and vitalizes the
blood. It is, without doubt, tho most
reliablo blood purifier yet discovered.

Editof. Asterian:
I noticed that you say in your
paper that it was reported to you
that rock, from Tillamook Head
could not be got because farmers
along the way had such an exag
gerated idea of the value of land,
that a right of way could not be
obtained.
The fact is that the farmers on
Clatsop plains have always been
willing to give a right of way to
any contractor, or the government,
for less money than would be
wanted to fence them off etc.
but have never been asked for it.
The only time they have ever
been asked for a right of way, it
was by an unorganized company,
and many thought they were beg
ging a right of way, to sell to who
ever might get the government
contract.
The farmers on Clatsop have no
exaggerated ideas of the benefits
of a railroad either, and think
they are pretty well served by
Capt. Fisher and the Electric, but
don't seem disposed to be contrary
on the subject of a way if too
much is not asked of them.
If a road was asked for along
the edge of the marsh, it would
not inconvenience them so much
as else where, and would be the
easiest place to put one except in
the race track, which latter place
cuts each farm in two.
The cemetery is on the edge of
the marsh and it is a water level
from there to the easide.
The objection to any grading
on the front is, that it would let
the sand loose, which would ruin
all their farms.
All the benefits of a road will
accrue to Astoria and the stock
holders of the road, and not to
Clatsop farmers, who, instead, will
have the continued bother of it.
Any one would think by read
ing Astoria papers that Astoria
owned Clatsop plains and the
beach and everything over here,
and that it was a sort of pleasure
park for them to run wild in on
Sunday and any other time when
they felt like it, when the fact is
when thev come banging their
guns all over Clatsop, they are
generally trespassing on some one,
and lots of times when thev arc
hunting elk and bear in the calf
pasture with a dozen hounds, they
are nuisances. Sai.i.ai..

An enterprising Pittsburg phy
sician is alleged to have applied
for a patent on an invention which
out does anything in its particular
line heretofore held up for public
security and admiration. The
Dr. proposes to take one's de
ceased relatives off one's hands by
contract, and, by a system of steel
presses and hot rollers, to trans
form them into attractive parlor
ornaments. By this process, which
excludes all moisture, from the
corpse, the latter is to be reduced
to a small size 12x15 inches be
ing the average and converted
into a cross, or vase, or book-rest,
or cigar-ash receiver, as the inge
nuity of the artist may suggest or
the sweet will of the surviving
relatives may dictate.

An old lady on the train be
tween Portland and Beaverton the
other day, apparently experiencing
her first ride on the cars; was very
much disturbed when the train
reached the high trestle on Fourth
street. The elevation of the road
at this point is very great and the
cars seem as if suspended in mid
air. As the train passed over tho
trestle the old lady convulsively
grasped the seat and held her
breath until the opposite side of
the chasm was reached, when she
gave a deep sigh of relief and ex
claimed, "Thank God! she's lit!"
