MayinhlS88 H. sore Eyes Ti.e cj cs are always in sympathy with the body, and afford an excellent index of Its condition. When the eyes become weak, and the lids intlamed and sore, it is an evidence that the system lias Lccomo disordered by Scrofula, for which Ayer's Sarsaparilla is the best known remedy. Scrofula, which produced a painful in flammation in'mv eyes, caused me much sufTerinp; for a number of years. Bytho am ice of a physician l commenced taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla. After using this medicine a short time I was completely Cured My eyes are now in a splendid condi tion, and I am as well and strong as ever. Mrs. "William Gage, Concord, N. H. For a number of years I was troubled with a humor in my eyes, and was unable to obtain any relict until I commenced using Ayer's Sarsaparilla. This medi cine has effected a completo cure, and I believe it to be the best of blood puri fiers. C. E. Upton, .Nashua, K. II. From childhood, and until with a few months, I have been afflicted with "Weak and Soro Eyes. I have used for these complaints, with beneficial results, Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and consider it a great blood purifier. Mrs. C. Phillips, Glover, Vt, I suffered for a year with inflamma tion in my left eye. Throe ulcers formed on tho ball, depriving me of sight, and causing great pain. After trying many otherrcmedios, to no purpose,! was final ly induced to use Ayer's Sarsaparilla. By Taking three bottles of thU medicine I have been entirely cured. My sight has been re stored, and there is no sign of inflamma tion, sore, or ulcer in my eye. Kendal T. Bo wen, Sugar Trco Ridge, Ohio. My daughter, ten years old, was afflict ed with Scrofulous Soro Eyes. During the last two years she never saw light of any kind. "Physicians of the highest standing exerted their skill, but with no Serinanent success. On tho recommen ation of a friend I purchased a bottle of Ayer's Sarsaparilla, which my daughter commenced taking. Bef oro she had used the third bottle her sight was restored. Her euro is complete. The United States marshal has arrested one, Louis Strohl, a young man about 23 years, at To peka, Kansas, on charge of selling and offering for sole a contrivance alleged to be for counterfeiting gold coin, but which in reality only brightens a genuine coin, although giving the impression that it is spurious. In shape the machine resembles a small clock being round, with a handle about six inches long. The face is 1 inches in diameter and the instru ment is 2J inches thick, opening exaotly at the middle. The owner pretended that it was a .counter feiting machine, and was trying to sell it as such when he was arrested. On opening tho case two nickle-plated cases, in each of which one side of the stamp necessary to make a So gold piece of 1887 is cut. Strohl, in operating his scheme, would show these dies to his victim and say: "Now we'll close the machine and I will show you how to make the money." He would close the instrument, taking care to fasten both hooks as he said, to hold it fast, but in reality one of the hooks was a crank which worked a hidden spring and pushed a whitened $5 gold piece between the dies. He would pour in the molten metal through a tube and after waiting long enough for it to cool he would open the case, throwing out the $5 piece, having about the color of lead. He would then wash the coin in a liquid, when it would assume the color of gold. "Now," he would say, "take this to a bank and get it changed," and gave the money to his victim, who would generally do as he was asked, and then return with tho change. He asked 1,200 for the machine, and says it was made in Spain, and is the only one in ex istence, but, judging from its make up, part of it must have been made by machinery, and there is no way ot telling how many have been sold. It is made of highly polished brass and can be carried with all the necessary parapher nalia in a small hand satchel. The lead poured in does not run down between the dies as one is led to suppose, but escapes through a small orifice into a side pocket, es. pecially prepared to receive it. The liquid is simply alcohol, which washes a white powder off the coin. The machine is loaded by putting three or four of these whitened coins into one pocket in such a way that they can be thrown on to the dies one at a time by moving tho spring. Strohl is now at Wyandotte waiting his trial for working a confidence game. When your liver is out of order your whole system is deranged. Your blood is impure, our brcatli offensive, you have headache, feel languid, dispirited anil nervous. The Baltimore "Episco pal Methodist" says "Simmons Liver Regulator is acknowledged to have no equal as a liver medicine, containing those Southern roots and herbs which an all-wise Providence has placed in countries where liver diseases prevail." A wager on the presidential election was made on Saturday be tween Tom Richmond and Win. Percival, of Dallas, Polk county. If Cleveland is elected Richmond receives of Percival his blooded 2 year-old bay filly, sired by Alta mont, dam Stranger and Snow storm. If, on tho other hand, Harrison is elected, Tom will have the pleasure, of paying him $300. Like the Light Weights Of the profession pugilistic, the kidneys are small but active In a state of health. Their secretion contains Impurities productive of rheumatism, gout and dropsy, if allowed to remain. When they are Inactive, the blood becomes choked with animal debris capable of destroying life. U not onlr to cuard against the diseases mentioned, but to prevent the fatty degeneration and ultimate destruction of the organs by those exceedingly dangerous maladies Bright's disease and diabetes. Activity of the bladder also insures it against the formation of gravel, which It sometimes reqHlres one of the most dangerous and pain ful operations In surgery to remove. Gravel, moreover, Ls a most agonizing complaint. The Bitters further commend themselves by remedying constipation, dyspopsla, debility, liver complaint and nervousness, and nullify influences productive of malarial disease. If a man's clothes don't fit him he is -very apt to make a fuss about it, but if his poor horse ob jects to wearing a "misfit" har ness he gets a "lickin." Ayer's Ague Cure "breaks up" chills and fever, expels malarial poisons from the system, and re stores health. Warranted to cure. Oonservativo Banking The St. Louis banks are very conservative, Some time ago an old man lived in that city who for many years had been in the habit of going to the sub-treasury at certain periods to get the coupons of his bonds cashed. On such oc casions he was always accompan ied by a white and black dog. One day he presented himselt for that purpose and the cashier re fused to give him the money. The old man demanded to know why. "I don't know you," said the cashier. "But I have been here before, and was never denied," the man answered. The cashier looked at him a moment, and then said: "Where is your black and white dog that always comes with you if you are the same man?" The old man's eyes filled with tears as he told the cashier that tho dog was dead. "Well", replied the cashier, "I am sorry to hear that, but you'll have to bring somebody here to identify yon now. I don't know you without tho dog." JV. 3. Tribune. Children Cry for Pitcher's Castoria (Vhen Baby was sick, wo gave her Castoria. The shipments for June were nearly 5,000,000 feet from the four lead ing mills situated at Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Oosmopolis and Mon tesano. The number of logging camps about the harbor is vari ously estimated at from fifty to seventy, with S50 to 900 men cm ployed, and one to three teams of six to eight yoke of oxen each. Logs range from $4 to 5 per 1,000 feet, for fir and S10 to $12 for cedar. Ayer's Sarsaparilla is recom mended by physicians as the only sure blood purifier. A Brooklyn woman recently succeeded in mortgaging her four hundred dollars' worth of furniture to twenty-six different firms for sums aggregating four thousand dollars, which she squandered at the races. The husband had the sale of the furniture stopped by an injunction, claiming that he and not his wife, owned the property.
