The West Superior Steel com pany, at Diiluth, Minn., has been fnllv organized, with a capital stock of 2,500,000, all of which has been taken up. There are at present about one hundred and fifty men employed, but the forcons to be increased. Fully 1,000 men will be employed in tho construction. The Kansas Citj' Commercial says: All the leading foundries in the city are running full time, and some of them find it necessary to run into the night in order to keep pace with their orders. Never before in the history of Kansas City has there been so grpat a demand for castings for both buildings and cable lines. A Boston reporter has started for Europe to visit the source of the Danube river. Ho expects to launch a row boat on the river in Bavaria and float down the river over 52000 miles to the Black Sea, taking in the capitals of four na tions, whose chief cities are built on the banks of the blue Danube. The new machine just invented for printing postal cards prints them from the roll, and turns them out in packages ready for deliv ery. It runs them off at the rate of three hundred a minute, with paper bands pasted around each twenty-five. It is said one man can look over tsvo machines. One hundred bottles of beer were delivered by mistake at the house of Mrs. Travers, a prominent member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in Detroit re cently. Mrs. Travers " promptly smashed the bottles in the gutter, and a suit at law is the result. Indiana is one of the largest flour producing states. It has about 1,000 mills, which employ 1,000 men, the wages of whom tho Indianapolis Journal has estimat ed at about $1,500,000.
