Just after the prayer his widow got up and said that tho spirit of her husband was there, and then she began lo abuse the preacher, and the prayer, and the hymn; and the friends of the dead man who had invited my friend to preach the funeral sermon went to hini and said he must not think anything about it; tiut, though it was contrary to the orditiHiy pro prieties, yet it was not the widow who was doing it, but it was her husband's spirit. My friend re plied that he was not at all hurl; lie did not feel hard toward any body, but still it was a peculiir experience. -lie said that in fif teen years of funerals it was the first time he had ever been sassed by a corpse.
