A gentloman living in Albina tells of a girl bom at Eola, near Independence, who is web-footed, for a fact. The girl is now 19 years of age, and lives at a little town on the O. R. & N. Shortly after her birth and when her parents were - living- at Eola, her mother, who was a new-comer to the Pacific coast, was continu ally making sport of "Webfeet. She took every occasion to ridicule their manners, customs and hab its. Frequently her neighbors told her to beware, for she was likely to raise a family of Webfeet hen-elf. Undoubtedly some of these retorts caused a deep im piesiion on her tnind. At any rate, about the first thing the mother enquired about when the child was born was in regard to the babe's feet. Much to her sur prise and disgust, the child was found to be web-footed. During the girl's childhood the peculiari ties of her lower extremities was wcil known among her near neighbors, but since she has at tained womanhood tho fact has been carefully concealed. She is to-day a handsome girl, wears a small shoes,. and, with the excep tion of the webs between the toes, has as shapely a foot as any young lady. Albina Courier. We once knew a gentleman in the days before the war who was in quite eomfortable circum stances, that gave in his taxes at least & per cent, more than he owned. The old tax-books of the county in which he " lived show lands that were never in existence, and negroes that he owned only in imagination. His pride has since had a fall, and he can buy a quar ter s worth ot conee and 50 cents' worth of sugar with as much grace as tne rest of us. Uplumbus, tfa.., Enquirer. At the Ontario Agricultural col lege an experiment in feeding eighteen head of store cattle with twelve pounds of hay, thirty-five pounds of turnips, and nino pounds of wheat bran per head daily, and also the same amount of hay and roots, but with different kinds of grain, resulted in the lowest cost of production on the bran ration. The total of farmers' indebted ness is put at $2,000,000. The val ue of our farm products every year is S-l.UUU.UUO. That is, every year we produce twice our total in debtedness. Professor Arnold says that cows fed on meal mixed with straw, cut and moistened, give more milk and considerably richer than when fed on the beat hay alone. I was under the care of various physicians, and tried a great many kinds of medicines, but never obtained more than temporary re lief. After taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla for a short time, my headache disap- S eared, and my stomach performed its uties more perfectly. To-day my health is completely restored.
