Six years ago a man in Fall Riv er married a beautiful young woman, the daughter of a banker. and the following day, while out riding tho horse rati awav and she was thrown out oi the rehiclo and t killed. The same uiaht tho banker received 840,000 after office hours and told the young man about it. The young man it :s said, captured the package of cash to console him for the loss of his bride and vanished. The matter wks plrtcod in the hands of a de tective. A year ago a wandering photographer, while passing through Hornerville, Neb., took a picture of the only general store in town. Not long since the artist was arrested in Chicago, and the negative found in his possession. In the roup of the negative thus photographed, a detective recog nized Ernest K. Williamson, tho Fall River Keenan who had eloped with the 40,000. The detective went to Hornerville and captured the wayward Ernest and returned with him to Fall River. It will be seen from this that the wandering photographer has his uses, and people who live rapidly and are wanted by the police would do well to restrain their van ity, aud keep out of reach of a tell tale camera. If Mr. "Williamson had been off attending to his business instead of loafing about the only general store in town and getting himself photographed in a group he would not now be in the strong embrace of the law, with a term of impris onment confidingly gazing into his anxious eyes. Fine Carrier Pigeons. J. McMunn, of Shedd, Linn county, has for some timo been training carrier pigeons with good success on the O. & C. railroad trains. Last week one of his birds "Champion "flew from Gervais to Shedd, a distance of fifty-five miles in fifty-seven minutes, and the same bird has flown from Salem, a distance of thirtv-ntne miles, in thirty-five minutes. "Volunteer," a young bird, flew from Eugene to Shedd, thirty-two miles in thirty five minutes. In two weeks more he will have one libeiared at Port land, as it has already been liberat ed within twenty-five miles of that city, and the next stage will bring it there. Mr. McMunn's birds are doing splendid work and their rec ord "is not excelled anywhere, al though he considers Oregon a difficult country for them to tra verse. They are of the best strains obtainable in New lork, Cincin nati and San Francisco. Biiclilcii's Arnica SuItc. Tm; Best Salve in the world for Cuts, Bruises, Sores, Ulcers, bait Itheum, Feer Sores. Atlanta, Oa.: Gentlemen I have been afflicted wlta ulceration of the legs ever since I was a child, the disease undoubtedly being here ditary, as my mother suffered from scrorui oua symptoms. A3 1 advanced to manoooa my affliction Increased until the malady becamo harrasslng and painful beyond in; power of words to describe. My right leg particularly became feartully Involved, the left leg being Ies3 painfully affected. Finally, about fourteen years ago. the tilcersonmy right leg had eaten through the flesh Into the bone. In order to save my life the doc tors determined to amputate my leg below the knee. The operation was successfully performed by Dr. TL V.3I. Miller, of Atlanta, and Dr. W. P. Bend, of Llthonla. But tho loss of my leg gave me only temporary re lief. The poison was still In my system ana soon began to show itself again. In a short time after large ulcers appeared on my left leg, covering It from the knee to the lnstep Krequently while at work I could be tracked by the blood which oozed from the huge ulcers, and tho sorei and rottenlng holes were so offensive that my fellow-workmen could not stand tho stench and would mova away from me. Last winter I was persuaded to try S. S. S. As a last effort I consented to do so, and about seven months ago I began taking the bpecLflc Isoon beganto feel the good effects or the medicine, the offensive running, began to grow lesi and lesi and finally ceased, the ulcers healed, my flesh became Ann and olld, and to day. after using twenty-one bottles. I am as bale and stout a man of my age as t here la I n G o orgla. I am seventy-one years old. but feel nowyoungerandstronger than I did when I was twenty five. 1 weigh about ITU pounds. Kothlng Is to be seen of the terrible disease, or to remind me of the torture I suffered for so many years, except the scars of tho perfectly bealed ulcers. I want the world to know of the almost miraculous cure effected on me by S. 3. S., and I call upon those who wish to know the particulars directly from me to write, and I will consider It a pleasure as well as a duty to aaswer their letters. I refer to Dr. W. P. Dond. of Llthonla, as to the truth of my statement. Very gratefully yours, B.DOAKB. Treatise on Blood and Skin Diseases mailed free. The Swiir Specific Co., Drawer 3, Atlanta, Qa- HEALTH.
