Pemale Suffrage In "Washington
Territory.
A number of petitions for fomale
sufierage were presented in the
house, and one in the council, and
referred tot he judiciar committee.
Remonstrances against the pas
sage of a female suffrage law have
been received from Clarke county
women, and more are coming from
different parts of the territory.
The remonstrants say, among other
things: "We have heretofore felt
it a disagreable duty to vote in
order to offset the votes of bold
and aggressive schemes and office
seekers of our sex; that no good
in politics has been accomplished
by women voting; that just in
proportion as woman clamors for
office and wrangles in politics she
loses the highest regards of the
masculine mind, loses her protec

SAVED HIS LEG-!
SCROFULA
O? TH3
BONE CURED !
Lithoxu. Qa., August 11, 1331.
The Swot Srzcmc Co.. Atlanta. Oa.:
Gentlemen I hare been afflicted with
ulceration of the legs ever since I was a
child, the disease undoubtedly being here
ditary, as my mother suffered from scroful
ous symptoms. As I advanced to manhood
my affliction Increased until the malady
became harrasslng and painful beyond the
power of words to describe. My right leg
particularly became fearfully involved, the
left leg being less painfully affected. Finally,
about fourteen years ago, the ulcers on my
right leg had eaten through the flesh Into
the bone. In order to save my life the doc
tors determined to amputate my leg below
the knee. The operation was successfully
performed by Dr. H. V.M. Miller, of Atlanta,
and Dr. W. P. Bend, of Lithonla. But the
loss of my leg gave me only temporary re
lief. The poison was still In my system and
soon began to show itself again. In a short
time after large ulce rs appeared on my left
leg. covering It from the knee to the instep.
Frequently while at work I could be tracked
by tho blood which oozed from the huge
ulcers, and the sorei and rottenlng holed
were so offensive that my fellow-workmen
could not stand the stench and would move
away from me.
Last winter I was persuaded to try S.S.S.
As a last effort I consented to do so, and
about seven months ago I began toklner the
Specific I soon began to feel the good effects
of the medicine, thq offensive running began
to grow less and less and Anally ceased, the
ulcers healed, my flesh became firm and
solid, and to-day. after using twenty-one
bottles. I am as bale and stout a man of my
age as there Is In Go orgla. I am seventy-one
years old. but feel now younger and stronger
than I did when X was iwenty-flvo. I weigh
about 17) pounds. Nothing is to be seen of
the terrible disease, or to remind me of the
torture I suffered for so many years, except
tho scars of tho perfectly healed ulcers.
I want tho world to know of the almost
miraculous cure effected on me by S. S. S.,
and I call upon those who wish to know the
particulars directly from me to write, and I
will consider It a pleasure as well as a duty
to answer their letters. I refer to Dr. W. P.
Bend, of Lithonla, as to the truth of my
statement. Very gratefully yours,
B.SXAXX.
