"No."
"Ain't? I Mv'ar, 1 told tlie old

"Had trouble, with the railroad
surveyors?1'
"Yes been shakin' my house
'round all summer. First some
men came along in a bugjy, set
up some long, slim, barber-pole
lookin' sticks, stuck up a three
legged dufunny, humped down,
squinted through it, an' then says
they: 'Old boss, you got to move
your house 'bout lour rods, 'cause
we're goin' to run the track of the
Dakota and Gum Weed Fork rail
road right through here!"
"So you moved it?"
"Pulled her right outo' the way.
I ain't the man to hinder no pub
lic improvements. Then some
more come along, an' squinted an'
peeked around, an' says they: 'Mr.
Granger, we're sorry, but we'll
have to trouble you to yank your
house around 'bout six rods south.'
I made a bee, an' we yanked her."
"Didn't that settle it?"
"No. In 'bout a week I caught
more men a squintin', an' I called
the hops an' we put jack-screws
under the house an' then I asked
the men where we should go.
cJes' haul her 'bout a quarter of a
mile due west, old man,' an' 'fore
night me'n the boys had her
hauled. I left the wheels right
under it that time, an' told Ike not
to onyoke the oxen."
"You didn't have to move again ?"
"Yes, but I did. Next mornin'
'fore we was up, 'long come a com
mitte from town and condemned
the house, an' ordered me to move
inside of ten minutes to make
room for the Great Dakota an'
North Pole Route. We hooked
up an' was snakin' it along while
my wife got breakfast, when down
come a big fat man with half a
dozen double chains an' begun
givin' me hail Columbia for drivin'

Waste of TKsuc Withont Repair.
Visor begins to decline when dyspepsia
invades the stomach. The disease prolonged
through neglect, entails grievous loss ofilesh
and serious waste of muscular tissue. To
invigorate thoroughly and speedily, a sound
stomachic is required. There is none com

it institutes, and if continued, perpetuates a
repair or the tissues, which have declined in
bulk, vigor and elasticity in consequence ot

should be lost in beginning the reparative
process, nor should there be anv delay in
removing these ailments or frequent occur

In the United States supreme
court, last Monday, a decision was
made iu the Kansas prohibition
cases. The decision is, in effect,
that the supreme court sustains the
right of a state, under its police
powers, to suppress the manufac
ture and sale of liquor within its
limits, without any liability on the
part of the state for compensation
for the value of any property which
mav be destroyed hv snnh shite
action. The court thus declares
the prohibition law of Kansas to
be valid.
