This is an ungrateful world. Were it not so, the intelligent v that the bustle is dying a tin him! death would be received with ri g inn; of bells and urinjj of cannon. Volumes have been written derid ing this absurd fashion, and, now that it is really going the way of all fashions, not a word is said to express the satirist's pleasure. On the whole, satire couldn't lie ex pected to rejoice at anything, but it might be glad that so threadbare a subject was at last to be laid at rest. The passing of the bustle involves another change more wel come than its own demise. This is the high hat, the towering, ob structive millinery of the last two years. There will be no sudden collapse, bnt note, if you please, how the best dressed women are lowering their crests to conform to the more graceful tournure. The hat balanced the bustle. The bustle gone, the hat shuts down, and, then, alas! theater-goers must seek another annoyance to rave about. Penn Johnson was driving through Taylor county, Fla., the other day, when a big rattlesnake came suddenly into the road just ahead of the horse. The horse tried to dodge around the snake and the snake tried to get away from the horse, and the result was that the rattler became tangled in a front wheel of the buggy. The horse, bjT this time thoroughly scared, ran, and the revolution of the wheel threw the snake into the buggy. Johnson thereupon quit the vehicle in a remarkably rapid manner, he doesn't know how, and the horse went on like the wind. By cutting across the country Johnson overtook the horse after a run of two miles. He looked care fully, but there was no snake in the buggy. Barbys Prophylactic Fluid. Use t in every sick room. Corrected with Ilostetter's Stomach Bitters, its dissensions with the food introduced into it in unwary moments of appetite ceases. Then it is at peace. Then dyspepsia aban dons its grip.
