During an acute attack dl Bronchitis, a
ceaseless tickling in the throat, and an
exhausting, hacking cough, afflict the
sufferer. Sleep is banished, and great
prostration follows. This disease is also
attended with Hoarseness, and some
times Loss of Voice. It is liable to be
come chronic, involve the lungs, and
terminate fatally.' Ayer's Cherry Pecto
ral affords speedy relief and cure in cases
of Bronchitis. It controls the disposition
to cough, and induces refreshing sleep.
I have been a practising physician for
twenty-four years, and, for the past
twelve, have suffered from annual at
tacks of Bronchitis. After exhausting
all the usual remedies
Without Relfef,
I tried" Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. It
effected a speedy cure. G. Stoveall,
M. D., Carrollton, Miss.
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral is decidedly the
best remedy, within my knowledge, for
chronic Bronchitis, and all lung diseases.
M. A. Bust, M. D., South Paris, Me.
I was attacked, last winter, with a
severe Cold, which grew worse and
settled on my Lungs. By night sweats
I was reduced almost to a skeleton. My
Couch was incessant, and I freauently
spit blood. My physician told me to

Cured By Using
two bottles of Ayer's Cherry Pectoral.
I am now in perfect health, and able to
resume business, after having been pro
nounced incurable with Consumption.
S. P. Henderson, Saulsburgh, Penn.
For years I was in a decline. I had
weak lungs, and suffered from Bron
chitis and Catarrh. Ayer's Cherry Pec
toral restored me to health, and I have
been for a long time comparatively vig
orous. In case of a sudden cold I always
resort to the Pectoral, and find speedy
relief. Edward E. Curtis, Rutland, Vt.
Two years ago I suffered from a severe
Bronchitis. Tho physician attending
me became fearful that the disease would
terminate in Pneumonia. After trying
various medicines, without benefit, he
prescribed Ayer's Cherry Pectoral,
which relieved me at once. I continued
to take this medicine, and was cured.

Sparks May Eesign.
Wasuixgton, Oct. 19. About
ten days ago secretary Lamar re
versed the decision of Gen. Sparks;
which resulted in giving the Chi
cago, St. Paul, Minneapolis Oma
ha Railway company company
about 2,000,000 acres of land,
which the land commissioner al
leged rightfully belonged to the
United States as an Indian and
military reservation. The com
missioner is now preparing a letter
to the secretary asking him to re
view his recent decision. He was
engaged upon that work this morn
ing when an acquaintance entered
the room.
Gen. Sparks impressively said:
"Sooner or later the man who un
dertakes to fight corporate monop
olies goes to the wall."
"Surely this is not true with
your queried the commissioners
visitor.
Sparks replied: "No; there is
too much right on my side. Mo
nopolies can't dash my brains out,
but I've abundant proof every day
that they are trying it mighty
hard."
Before Gen. Sparks' visitor left
the room he satisfied himself from
remarks made by the commissioner
that in the event that secretary
Lamar does not reverse his recent
decision, Gen. Sparks will feel it
incumbent upon himself to tender
his resignation.
Regarding the report in yester
day's Astokiak of the defiant Hal
ifaK cruiser going to seal in Alas
kan waters, the chief of the reve
nue marine service is reported in a
Washington dispatch as saying:
"We are inclined to believe that
story. Of course if any vessel
flying the British flag, or any oth
er flag, is discovered seal fishing
in Behring sea, it will be the duty
of the Hush to command her to
surrender. If the sealer refuses,
our officers will make the capture
by force, or sink her if necessary.

Where They All Are.
Where, oh where has the young
man gone who graduation clothes
nut on. some time alonr the last
of May, and owned the whole wide
wnrld for n flav? And where is
the sweet girl graduate, who
chanted an essav dread with fate,
and started out with a giggling
frown to turn this old world up
side down? And where isjast
year's candidate who had things
fixed for this years slate? Who
carried around, as you'd believe, a
couple of counties in his sleeve?
And where is the scribe with the
vaulting will, who tried a long felt
want to fill, and courted shekels
and renown with a minion paper
in a bourgeois town? The lad has
divided the world up fair, and
owns but his own eight-billionth
share: the sweet eirl grad. is a
grand surprise and conquers the
world with well made pies; tne
candidate with the deathless "gall"
is fixing himself for another fall;
while the journalist with the
haughty crest has gone the way of
last year's nest. So year by year
aud day by day; the world runs
on in the same old way; the bal
loon that is the biggest round
about is the flabbiest rag when the
gas is out.
