Prohibition in Iowa, Fact after fact is brought for ward by Democrats and independ ents showing the havoc to the state's -well-being through prohi bition, but the chief priests of the Republican temple are dumb as oysters. Thus it is now shown that stamps have actually and largely decreased at the Des Moines postoffice, and it has also leaked out that the income of the Western Union telegraph office here has also been considerably abridged. The pro hibitionists are holding frequent meetings here, trying to break the force ot these and other ugly facts, but the meetings are slimly at tended, dreary, and impotent as to results, and a notable fact is that most of the faithful who appear are from the suburbs, and not the city proper. Des Moines Special to Chicago Times. Old Trouns Genail died last week, aged 93. His claim to no toriety is that he onee refused to give 10 for the present site of the city of St. Louis.
