Celem&B, Accountant, The First Sign Of failing health, whether in the form oi Night Sweats and Nervousness, or in a sense of General Weariness and Loss oi Appetite, should suggest the use of Ayer's Sarsaparilla. This preparation i3 most effective for giving tone and strength to the enfeebled system, pro moting the digestion and assimilation of food, restoring the nervous forces to their normal condition, and for purify ing, enriching, and vitalizing the blood. Failing Health. Ten years ago my health began to fail. I was troubled with a distressing Cough, Night Sweats, Weakness, and Nervous nes3. I tried various remedies pre scribed by different physicians, tmt became so weak that I could not go up stairs without stopping to rest. My friends recommended me to try Ayer's Sarsaparilla, which I did, and 1 am now as healthy and strong as ever. Mrs. E. L. Williams, Alexandria, Minn. I have used Ayer's Sarsaparilla, in my family, for Scrofula, and know, if it is taken faithfully, that it will thoroughly eradicate this terrible disease. I have also prescribed it as a tonic, as well as an alterative, and must say that I honestly believe it to be the best blood medicine ever compounded. W.F. Fowler, M.D., D. D. S., Greenville, Tenn. Dyspepsia Cured. It would be impossible for mo to de scribe what I suffered from Indigestion and Headache up to'the time I began taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla. I was under the care of various physicians, aud tried a great many kinds of medicines, but never obtained more than temporary re lief. After taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla for a short time, my headache disap- 8 eared, and my stomach performed its uties more perfectly. Tc-nlay my health is completely restored. Mary Harley, Springfield, Ma33. I have been greatly benefited by the prompt use of Ayer's Sarsaparilla. It tones and invigorates the system, regu lates the action of the digestive and assimilative organs, -and vitalizes the blood. It is, without doubt, the most reliable blood purifier yet discovered. It 13 really wonderful to notice the constant changes which our in dustrial interests are undergoing from .year to year. Too little at tention is paid to these changes by the average business man. Those who watch and study them often realize large benefits from such study and observation. The wonderful change in trans portation and travel which has been brought about by railroads during the last 40 years is the marvel of the age. It has brought fortunes to thousands who took early and close observations and acted upon them promptly and in telligently. The same may be said of the change in ocean service to steam. The improvement and changes in nearly all the mechanical and manufacturing enterprises of the day during the last half-century have quite revolutionized every thing in .that direction, and who ever is negligent in keeping up with the latest improvement is sure to get left. "YVehavo seen the cjrain-growing centers of this country shifted from point td 'point in its westward progress. Fifty years ago the Genesee brand of flour was the chief staple of that commodity throughout the country. The Gen esee valley now scarcely raises wheat enough tosupply its own lo cality. The pork-packing business has largely left Cincinnati, which was once familiarly known as "Pork opolis." It tarried awhile in Chi cago, where it still maintains a stronghold, but it is now evidently moving westward to Kansas City and Omaha. The latter city is evidently, from its favorable loca tion, destined soon to be come the national center of that great busi ness. The oenter of the lumbering business not many ears ago was in the state of Maine. Now there is nit immense amount of lumber constantly moving from the great northwest to the Atlantic seaboard and even to Europe. The latest indications are that it will not be man' years before the immense forests on the lower Columbia, in the vicinity of Astoria, and on the sound will form the center of th it immensely great and constantly growing interest. A few years ago New England felt sure of a permanent position as the cotton manufacturing cen ter of the continent. Now, south ern cotton mills are beginning to undersell New England in the general markets of the country, and are even contemplating a challenge to the markets of the world. The iron interests, which for so many years have been concen trated at Pittsburg and vicinity, bid fair to be transferrd to the "Birmingham" of the south, and Alabama instead of Pennsylvania may soon furnish the country with the bulk of her iron. It is even claimed that the low price at which she will soon be able to place iron upon the market will revolution ize the iron industry of the world. The iron masters just now, how ever, are watching with intense interest the wonderful develop ments which are in progress on the Geogebic range on the south ern shore of Lake Superior. The developments there may possibly rival those of Alabama. Fifty years ago nearly every thing was done by "the rulb of thumb." Now, the utmost precis ion is-being introduced into every department of industry. Machin ery has almost entirely displaced handwork, and made almost abso lute precision an easier thing than the rough guesswork of the past generation. Machinery has made possible the comparatively new feature of "ossemblinsr" in mechanics which has given us, at low prices, the sewing machine, revolving pistols, etc., the like of which no other country has yet been able to successfully produce. Twenty years ago the micro scope was something seldom found outside of the scientist's study. Now it" is an indispensable re quisite in almost every branch of industry. Such is a brief glance at some of the wonderful changes which the last half-century has witnessed in the industries of the world. What another half-century will 1?ring forth, Kho can tell? It Would Be Hard on The Parmer. A Long Island farmer shows the inequality of Henry George's the ory of tax upon lands alone by reference to his own case. He has a farm of one hundred acres, which is assessed at $2,500, and buildings op the same assessed at $2,500." He is taxed one and. one half p6r cent, on the assessment, paying a tax of $75 per year. Ad joining his farm lives a lich New Yorker who owns five acres, upon which he has built a 50,000 house. This property is assessed at 30, 000. The assessment of the two properties is $35,000, and the tax 525. Upon Henry George's the ory, that improvements are not taxable, because the . product of human labor, the assessment would be reduced to $2,G25, upon which a tax of twenty per cent, would have to be levied to make the tax now assessed. The farmer would pay $500 and the rich neighbor 25 tax. Catherine-Owen has published a book called "Ten Dollars Enough." She -may think so now, but by the time she gets all the jet trimming and stuff for the overskirt she will find that about S10 more is necessary, not includ ing the dressmaker's bill. Ten dollara is enough for the material, but trimming and making cost like sixty. DISGUSTING SKIN DISEASES. What spectacle is more disgusting than that of a man or woman with a skiu disease which shows itself in pimples and blotches on hands, arms, face and neck? It is simply impure blood. See whatBiuNDRETu's Pills did for a chronic case : For four years I was in the Mount ed Infantry in the TJ. S. Army, re siding during that time principally in Texas. Almost all of that time I had a chronic skin disease, charac terized by an eruption over the en tire surface of my legs and thighs, aims and chest.-TThe doctors fenned it eczema. I had given up all hopes of ever being cured, when Brand beth's Pills were recommended to me. I concluded to try them, and did so, and I have thanked God daily since then that I did so. I think I used them altogether for about three months, and, by that time was com pletely cured and have never had any trouble tince. Mv skin is as clear as any one's. n. . George Chapman. Pincenmng, Mich., December 8, 18o3. Judge not hastily; it is better to suspend our opinion than to ie tract an assertion. Do not allow the accumulation of Scurf or Dandruff, when it can be easily prevented by the use of Ayer's Hair Vigor. The day of payment is always nearer the day of promise than it seems. When your blood is impover ished the remedy is at band. Take Ayer's Sarsaparilla. It is the guilt and not the scaf fold, which constitutes the shame. Chronic Looseness of the Bowels. Results from imperfect digestion. The cause lies in the torpiditv of the liver. A regular habit of body can be secured by takinu Simmons Liver Regulator to aid digestion, to f-timulate the dull and sluggish liver, and rid the system of ex cessive and poisonous bile.
