How It Looked in Print. A society reporter, describing the social festivities following a marriage in hiejh life, wrote that "after enjoying the generous feast, with its profusion of crusted old wines, the merry party all filed down stairs and joined in the wedding dance." Her handwrit ing was rather blind, and when she looked at the paper next day her hairs gently but firmly rose and stood on end. This is the way the compositor set up the repert: "After enjoying the generous feast, with its" profusion of crusty old wines, the merry party fell down stairs and spoiled their ready-made pants."
