Paul arrived to- jday from Ounalaska.- Between the middle of June and August Sth, on which date the St. Paul left Ounalaska for this city, ten vessels were seized by the Jittsh and special agents "Tingle and Loud for violating the law prohib iting scaling in Behring sea, east of the Russian line." After the close in the season in the Pacific, there was a meeting of captains of sealing schooners, both British and American, and it was then agreed to fish on the American side of Behring sea, but to give the Rus sian half, guarded b- several swift cruisers, a wide berth. One by one the schooners worked northward and in the course of a few weeks about thirty-five vessels, eighteen from this city and the rest from Victoria, had entered American waters.
