Attorneys appearing for alleged fraudulent entrymen required to file written authority from claimants. "Where an entry i3 held for cancella tion on special" agent's report, GO days will bo allowed for appeal, or to show cause why entry should he sustained. (Circular of July 31, 1SS5.) 2d. "Where notice is given by pub lication it must appear that diligence has been used to obtain personal serv ice, and that a copy of the notice has been sent by registered mail to defendant's last kuown address; and also posted on the land. Affidavit of contest must allege continuance of default up to date of affidavit. (Par leer vs. Castle, review. Sec'v, Aug. 3, 18S5.) A woman who marries after mak ing a settlement and tiling, and prior to entry, forfeits her pre-emption right. fChamberin vs. Drucker, Secretary, July 2S, 1SS5.) 2d. A pre-emptor of laud in otic county having become an officer in another county under a law requir ing him to bo an inhabitant of such county, is estopped from asserting a residence on said claim during tho term of office. Circular of April 22, 1835, erroneous iu requiring claimants at heariugs upon their perfected entries to submit their testimony first, subject to cross-examination and rebuttal- (Ex parte Burns, Sec'v, July 23, ISSo.) If widow of decased entryman re marries before final proof," tho cei tificate should be made out in her present name ami describo her as formely tho widow of tho deceased, naming him. (Ex parte Hingst Com missioner. July 29, 18S5.) NO DANGER. We regret tbat tbe government should send back a band of Iudiaus. formerly known as "hostiles," but now characterized by tho govern ment as "good'' Indians. But their atrocious work is a matter of the past and we do not seem to make progress in reviving tho story of their crime. Every time tlm subject is mentioned, Hie press east aiid west copy jiibt enongn on this subject to keep the world informed that wc have had tronble with Indians and are now in tho immediate vicinity of the great savage terror. The fact is tbat we have but few Indians in this locality, less than threo hundred heads of families, and nearly all of these are located upon lands upon the reserva tion and are making money attending to agricultural and stock raising pur suits. They readily understand that in case of an outbreak or any attempt of the kind, they would be met by a tboasaud armed settlers ready to put down such insurrection. Hence there is no apparent inclination among mese j.uuiaus 10 uann inc wnue peo ple or to agitate sedition in any form. There is and has been no fear on the part of the settlers in this locality on account of Indians. Leiciilon, Ida ho, Teller. Eob Btirdettc say3 the Lord wasted mud when ho made tho man who will take his county paper and never pay a cent, and then order tho postmaster to send it back "refused." There is no doubt about the waste, but the diag nosis of tho material is, to say the least, questionable. Madrid, Sept. 7.
