The papers, although consisting of only two articles cover forty-three pages of priuled matter. After devoting eight pages to a protracted memo randum of the possessions and in debtedness of the Oregon Eailway and Navigation company, in -which the only items of interest aro that .there are G75niiles of constructed road, SG,000,000 of firet mortgage bonds, 1,200,000 in sorip certificates s and $3,000,000 debentures ontstand inc and the road contemplates an is sue at a rale not exceeding $25,000 per mile of the road of new consoli dated OS, dated June 1 of this year, Jir'i . :.i ii . ii. .1 : and ail its belongings shall be leased to tlio Northern Pacific, the Union Pacific and the Oregon Short Lino railway companies for 990 years, the considerations being a cash transfer of $1, and an agreement to fulfill cer tain provisions. In brief the Oregon road becomes a part of tbo Northern Pacific system and the latter assumes the former's obligations and guaran tees its fixed charges. The lease is to terminate by default for ninoty days in any of the covenants byeither party to the indenture. A director of the Oregon Railway and Navigation company said yester day that the lease might be abandon ed, as President Smith was not satis fied with the Northern Pacific's terms, and had stated his objections to President.
