Messrs. Seabcrt fc Johssos,
Gentlemen: Like most of my profession, I
am cautious about pinning my faith to any
new medicine or curative agent. But your
BENSON'S CAPCINE POROUS PLASTER
has broken through the barriers and. won its
way to my good opinion. My attention was
first called to it some eight months ago by a
patient of mine Although I was well ac
quainted with the superior excelienco of your
other plaster and antiseptic dressing, made
especially for tbo profession, tho Benson's
was comparatively new to me. I had heard,
however, of its merits as a remedy, in cases
ofLamoBack, Local Rheumatism, Neural
gia. Congestion of tho Bronchial Tubes and
Lungs. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and the liko
affoctions, and havo einco begun to experi
ment with it personally. I find BENSON'S
CAPCINE PLASTER an exceptionally doan
ly plaster to uso. and rapid in its action.
Many tests of its qualities, made in my own
family and among my patients hare convinc
ed me that there is no siaglo articlo so valu
able for popular uso, nor so helpful in the
diseases I havo named.
Should you desiro to do so, you may use my
name to that effect
Very truly yours,

Very Biter.
Cincinnati, Nov. 26. Gath in his
letter to theEt q iir3r, indulges in this
flirgat President Arthur: Tho na
tional committee received from Ches
ter A. Arthur's civil service crowd les3
than $10,0J0. He got tho nomination
for vice-presidcLt on the theory that
ho was a great bulldozer of the pat
ronage. When defeated for the nom
ination he had neither the genius nor
the sincerity to do anything for his
party. He labors nmler the delusion
that" if he had been nominated he
would have been elected. If he had
been nom'nateJ ho would have been
put at the bott jm of a well and cold
water pumped in on him. The Re
publican party comes to its death by
such apologies for statesmen and men
as he. He has been essentially a
magazine president, seriously edited
into the W hite House; lie has been
society's serial story. When he
comes" out he will be sold for old silk
rags. The great party which was or
ganized to break up slavery in the
New World, and ended by having
such a president as this piece of man
millinery, may well desire to have a
holiday in order to get reasonably
dirty and common."
General Logan's Financial Condition.
Washington, Nov. 24. Gen.Logan,
according to all reports, is left in a
very deplorable position by the fail
ure of theEepublican ticket. He has
no prospect of being re-elected to the
senate, and his term will expire on
the 4th of March. A prominent office-holder
in this city, who is an in
timate friend of Gen. Logan, said to
a correspondent to-day: "Sonio peo
ple seem to imagine that Gen. Logan
is a rich man. On the contrary, he is
very poor. About ten years ago he
owned considerable property and
business investments in and around
Chicago that were worth $150,000,
but since then he has practically lost
everything. His investments were
lost in the panic of 1873, and he has
now nothing to depend upon outside
his salary of So,000 per year as sena
tor, which will soon cease. Logan is
a lawyer by profession, but he has
not practiced at the bar for many
years and he has no reputation in the
legal lino I don't know what he
intends to do for a living after his
term expires."
Blaine's Delicate Reproof.
During a debate in congress some
years ago Blaine lost his temper. Af
ter the discussion was over au Illinois
congressman said to him:
"Mr Blaine, I am not very well ac
quainted with you, and .so I cannot
speak as freely as I would to an, old
friend, but I feel that I ought to tell
you that you made a fool of
yourself yesterday."
Blaine answered with a sigh: I am
afraid I did forget myself."
Then breaking into a chuckle, he
added: "What kind of language do
you uso when you aro reproving a
man with whom you consider your
self thoroughly intiraato?"' Texas
Siftings.
PILES! PILES! PILES!
A SURE CUKE FOUND AT LAST!
NO ONE NEED SUFFER.
A sure cure for Blind, Bleeding1
Itching and Ulcerated Piles has been
discovered by Dr. Williams (an Indi
an Bemedy,) called Dr. William's In
dian Pile Ointment. A single box has
cured tho worst chronic cases of 25
or 30 years standing. No one need
suffer five minutes after applying this
wonderful soothing medicina Lotions
instruments and electuaries do more
harm than good. William's Indian
Pile Ointment absorbs the tumors,
allays the intense itching, (particular
ly at night after getting warm in bed,)
acts as a poultice, gives instant relief,
and is prepared only for Piles, itching
of tho private parts, and for nothing
else.
Bead what the Hon. J. M. Coffinber
ry of Cleveland says about Dr. Wil
liam's Indian Pile Ointment: I have
used scores of Pile Cures, and it af
fords me pleasure to say that I have
never found anything which gave
Buch immediate and permanent relief
as Dr. William's Indian Ointment.
Hon. Judge W. P. Coons, Maysville,
