Sax Fbaxcisco, Nov. 10. Chinese advices state that the steamer JTira mer, running between Japanese ports and Hong Kong, foundered in a storm off tho China coast, on the 21st of September. All on board were lo3t, with the exception of two of the crew. These men were fonnd adrift in a boat in an exhausted condition by a fishing junk several days after the disaster. Amekicaxs have been so absorbed in their own affairs of late that they have not paid attention to what is going on in the outside world. Yet events will not wait their leisure, and when the president has been declared and the new deal in state and local affairs announced, they will have a good deal of leeway to bring up. In Germany tho elections attest the steady growth of liberal, if not of Republican ideas. In Belgium tho Liberals have recovered from their late surpriso and are making head way. In France tho aggressive colo nial policy of the government is pre cipitating a dissolution. Spain is closing its commercial breach with the United States. India is on the brink of another revolt. The English have their work cut out for them in the Soudan and Transvaal, and Ire land is clamorous for independence. And so the world wags. A Connecticut jury recently found a man guilty of murder in the second degree for killing the man who had been criminally intimate with his wife. Tho Springfield Republican, commenting on the subject, says: "Of course no seduction, least of all that of a married woman, can be an excuse for murder, and it is a healthy sign when juries assert this principle." In England murder as a redress for doing wrong is not treated with the leniency it has been in America, and for this reason such murders seldom occur. Tho Englishman prefers to go to the courts and ask for divorco and damages rather than go to the courts as a murderer with the cer tainty of going to tho scaffold. Tho English practice is more in accord ance with civilization than ours has been. Northern Pacific cattle shipments this year have been the greatest since the road was opened. The revenue from east bound shipments already equals the earnings made last spring on west bound shipments. So far, 50,000 head of beef cattle have been shipped east, and contracts already made call for the shipment of 25,000 more. Last spring 100,000 one and two-year-old cattle were shipped west West bound shipments averages forty head of cattle to tho car, while it is impossible to crowd more than twen ty beef cattle into one car. Sixty men are at present at work at Eocky Point, Coos Bay, and from 250 to 270 cubic yards of rock are be ing dumped every day. The water is over fifty feet deep at tho outer end of tho breakwater, and tho wall i being extended about 30 feet per month. PILES! PILES! PILES! A SURE CURE F0U'D AT LAST! NO ONE NEED SUFFER. A sure .cure for Blind, Bleeding' Itching and Ulcerated Piles has been discovered by Dr. Williams (an Indi an Remedy,) called Dr. William's In dian Pile Ointment. A single box has cured the worst chronic cases of 25 or 30 years standing. No one need suffer five minutes after applying this wonderful soothing medicine. Lotions instruments and electuaries do more harm than good. William's Indian Pile Ointment absorbs the tumors. allays the intense itching, (particular ly at night after getting warm in bed,) uuia w ciijuiuiiut;, jjivea insianc renei, and is prepared only for Piles, itching of tho private parts, and for nothing else. Read what the Hon. J. 1L Coffinber ry of Cleveland says about Dr. Wil liam's Indian Pile Ointment: I have used scores of Pile Cures, and it af fords me pleasure to say that I have never found anything which gave such immediate and permanent relief as Dr. William's Indian Ointment Hon. Judge W. P. Coons, Maysville, Ely., says: "I have suffered for years with itching piles, and have used many remedies. I havo used Dr. Wil liam's Indian Pile Ointment and been cured while every other remedy has failed." For sale by all druggists and mailed on receipt of price, $1.00.
