PlTAODJii ' T Death of a Well-Known Newspaper Man. San Fran-cisco, Oct, 31. Samuel Seabougb, one of the best known edi torial writers on this coast, died to day of cancer in tho ear. Mr. Sea biujli camo to California in early day?, and in 1856 or 1857 was justice of the pence at Folsom. For rnauj years he was editor of the Sacramento Jnion. He had also been editor ol he Stockton Jiulej-ence it, and later was connected with the Alta-Califor-nia. After he left the Union, on the merg-'ng of that journal into the tCtcora-Uiiion, he for a few months worked ou the editorial department of the Bulletin. At the time of his death he was an editorial writer on the San Francisco Chronicle. He was a native of Pennsylvania, aged 60 years. Samuel Seabough, the journalist, "whose death is announced to-dav. will be remembered by many old resi dents of Clatsop and Benton coun ties iu Oregon. About twenty-five years ago he spent a year on Clatsop plains and three or "four months at Corvallis. and at the time of his death was contemplating visiting Oregon again. Significant. It is regarded as a significant fact in Sau Francisco that the Cen tral Pacific has ordered two of its colliers to bo fitted for pas sengers. A railroad man said to the Oregonian last rittav that he thought it was the intention of the Central Pacific to put these boats on the Oregon route in the event of the O. E. & N. Co. combining with the Union Pacific to bring San Francisco freights via Portland. PILES! PILES! PILES! A SURE CURE F0U'D AT LAST! NO ONE NEED SUFFER. J Mkssts. Seaburt & Jonso5, Gentlemen: Like most of ray profession, I am cautious about pinning my faith to any new medicine or curatiro ngent. But your BENSON'S CAPC1NE POROUS PLASTER has broken through tho barriers and won its way to my good opinion. My attention was first called to it some eight months ago by a patient of mino Although I wa3 well ac quainted with tho superior excollonce of your other plaster and antiseptic dressing, made especially for tho profession, tho Benson was comparatively new to me. I had heard, however, of its merits as a remedy, in cases of Lamo Back, Local Rheumatism, Neural gia. Congestion of tho Bronchial Tube3 and Lungs. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and tho like affections, and havo since begun to experi ment with it personally. I find BENSON'S CAPCINE PLASTER an exceptionally clean ly plaster to use. and rapid in its action. Many tests of its qualities, made in my own family and among my pationts hare convinc ed me that thero is no single articlo so valu able for popular use, nor so helpful in the diseases I havo named. Should you desire to do so, you may ui ay name to that effect. Very truly youra, H. H. KANE, A. M., M, D. The genuine havo the word CAPCINE eut in tho center. Price Scents.
