Governor Cleveland left Albany this morning, accompanied by his private secretary aud Mayor Banks of Albany. It was the expressed wish of the" govc-ur that no demonstration be made aloiip the route. At Ponjjhkcepsic, hov ever, there was a crowd so large and enthusiastic, that he was induced lo show himself to the assemblage. For five minutes he shook hands with all who could reach him. At this point Senator and Mrs. Xewbold boarded tho train and the governor chatted pleasantly with Mr. Kewbold nntil Garrison's was reached. Here Ham ilton Fish got on board the train aud entered the car occupied by the gov ernor. They greeted each other cor dially and conversed together until the arrival of the irrin at the Grand Central depot. At about 1030 a committee, com posed of Senator Barnmn. chairman: Abram Hewitt, Senator Gormau of Mary laud, ex-Mayor Grace, Senator Gwinn, J. Y James, C. D. Campbell, II. B. Lighter, .T. B. Colemau, Eugene Kclley and Messrs. Greeue aud Yan derpool. met the governor at the depot and after an exchange of greetings escorted him to the carriage, which he entered in company with Senator Barnum aud Colonel Lamont. Large crowds had assembled at the depot and when Governor Cleveland made his appearance cheers wcro given, which were continued until the car riages departed. Largo nnmbers of men rushed toward the governor and held out t'-eir ham's, which he smil inSb grasped. Several times after the carriage had started the driver was ordered to stop his horses, so tho governor could satisfy the desires of those who wished to shake his hand. The party drove to the Fifth Ave nue hotel, where the governor alight ed. Here he attracted a large crowd, and was lifted up and carried some distance by enthusiastic supporters, and was followed by a cheering crowd until he reached the street. He immediately proceeded to his rooms. Quite a crowd gathered out side the hotel and gave hearty cheers Or. the arrival of the Democratic candidate the rooms of the governor were immediately besieged by poli ticians and reporters, who were anx ious to get a word from him or his secretary, but Cleveland remained in private, to which only a select few could gam access. Eat your BENSON'S CAPCIXE POROUS rLASTER has broken through tho barriers and won its way to my good opinion. My attention was first called to it some eight months ago by a patient of mino Although I was well ac quainted with tho superior cxccllcnco of your other plaster and antiseptic dressing, made especially for tho profession, tho Benson's was comparatively now to me. I had heard, however, of its merits as a remedy, in casc3 of Lame Back, Local Rheumatism, Neural gia. Congestion of tho Bronchial Tubes and Lungs. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and tho like affections, and havo sinco began to experi ment with it personally.
