The fol lowing spring he planted the boll en tire in one hill. Numerous young shoots came up in a close bunch fromit These shoots were trans planted singly and cultivated. The yield in the number of potatoes was fair, but in size they were not much larger than peas, but what was strange there appeared to be three varieties, and such proved to be the case on the second year of cultiva tion. 1st, a long, slim, smooth, crooked potato of a whitish yellow color, and tapering at the ends. 2nd, a white variety, roundish, surface in clined to roughness, with eyes deep indented. 3rd, a tuber very similar in shape to the Garnet Chili, but of a lighter red color with strips of min ute flecking of white. The second season of cultivation produced much larger Jpotatoes than the first, and the third larger than the second. The first and second turned out to be early varieties, the third late, a prolific bearer, with stalk tall branch ing into several parts, growing and remaining green until late in the season, and not inclined to blight easily. New York, Sept. 13. A special from Ottawa says: The appearance of Eiel, theUed River insurrectionist of 1870, in Northwest territory, is causing considerable uneasiness among the settlers, who regard his presence there as a renewal of the old feelings of hostility among the Indians and half-breeds toward the white people. In addressing a num ber of his followers he said the time had come when the Indian question must be settled, and justice done. He is a perfect god among the In dians, and his influence, it is feared, may be exercised in inciting them to rebellion. PILES! PILES! PILES! A SURE CURE FOUSDAT LAST! NO ONE NEED SUFFER. A sure cure for Blind, Bleeding- Itching and "Ulcerated Piles has been discovered by Dr. Williams (an Indi an Remedy, called Dr. William's In dian jtuo uinimenc. &. single uo. uus cured the worst chronic cases of 25 or 30 years standing. J. 3L CofEnber- ry of Cleveland says about Dr. Wil liam's Indian Pile Ointment: I have used scores of Pile Cures, and it af fords me pleasure to say that I have never found anything which gave such immediate and permanent relief as JLr. William's Indian Ointment. Hon. Judge W. P. Coons, Maysville, Ky., says: "I havo suffered for years with itching piles, and have used many remedies. Sut your BENSON'S CAPCINE POROUS PLASTER has broken through tho barriers and won its way to my good opinion. My attention was first called to it some eight months ago by a patient of mino Although I was well ac quainted with tho superior excellonco of your other plaster and antiseptic dressing, made especially for tho profession, tho Benson's was comparatively new to mo. I had heard, however, of its merits as a remedy, in cases of Lame Back, Local Rheumatism, Noural gia. Congestion of tho Bronchial Tubes and Lungs. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and tho like affections, and have sinco begun to experi ment with it personally. I find BENSON'S CAPCINE PLASTER an exceptionally clean ly plastor to use, and rapid in its action. Many tests of its qualities, mado in my own family and amoqg my patients havo convinc ed mo that thero is no single article so valu ablo for popular use, nor so helpful in tho diseases I havo named.
