Augusta, Sept. 10. The following dispatoh was forwarded from here to te day: To John A. Logan, Chicage: -Ee-turns from, remote sections of Iho state increase the majority beyond all expectations. In 358 towns the Kepublican majority over Bedman exceeds 18,000, and the prospect is that on complete returns the major ity may reach 19.000. Possibly it will be the largest ever given in the history of the - Eepublican party in Maine, with two exceptions at the close of the war. .Latest returns show the Eepublicans have carried every county in the state and have elected everv member of the state senate. The magnitude of the Re publican vote is a surprise to 00m parties, and shows that a large num ber of Democrats joined our ranks. (Signed) Walker Blaise. Attottrta. SenL 10. Three hundred and fifty-eight towns give Bobie 69, 878; Bedman 51,217. Complete offi cial returns will not be in for several days. BUTIiEB'S movements. Atchisoh. Kan.. Sept 10. General Butler arrived in this city at four o'clock this morning, from .Lincoln, Nebraska. A committee of Green baokers, headed by Ex-Governor Bob- mson, met him at tne train ana es corted him to the hotel, and after ward escorted him to Topeka. After the distinguished Anti-Monopolist had breakfasted a reception was ten dered him in the parlors of tne notei, at which Senator Ingalls acted as master of ceremonies. At the depot, previous to the departure for Topeka, a meat crowd of rjeonle assembled, and begged for a speech, but he de clined, promising, however, to return this way to-morrow (Thursday) and deliver an address at the Union depot. Citizens have appointed committees and are makigg other arrangements for the important event "the essence of it." New York, Sept 10 The Sim has the following note, wnion it noaas "The essence of it:" "Cleveland has Democratic and Cleveland has Re publican supporters. They looked with anxiety and hope for a stalwart defection in Vermont. If they could not secure aid and comfort there from the great chieftain sulking in his seat, where could they? Next, in their disappointment and despair, they turned to Maine, and staked all their ready means on the home of the Plumed Knight;' but Blaine proves no 'deadhead' in Maine, where he has many personal rivals, and now what noxt? Let Cleveland modestly retire, and let the Democrats adopt Butler, or take up Hendricks, Thurman, Bay ard or Bandall, and all may yet be saved." AGAINST OI1EVEI1AND. Washington. Sept 10. Caroline B Winslow, secretary of the Moral Ed ucation Bociety, sends from Washing ton resolutions adopted by the soci ety, i ollowing is among the resolu tiens: "That public and private char acter are inseparable; that Grover Cleveland, by his immoral character and criminal conduct, is an enemy to woman's virtue and unworthy of the confidence or respect of every man who has any regard for the good name and honor of his mother, sister. wife or daughter, or for the purity ana sanotity Of lus home. Cleveland's movements. Binghampton, N. Y., Sent 10. Gov. Cleveland stopped here this morning while on his way to Albany, and held a public reception. He was received by all the city officers. J Messts. Sbaburt k Jonxsox, Gentlemen: Liko most of my profession, I am cautious about pinning my faith to any now medicino or curative agent. But your BENSON'S CAPCINE POROUS PLASTER has brokon through the barriers and won its way to my good opinion. My attention was first called to it some eight months ago by a patient of mine Although I was well ac quainted with tho superior excellonco of your other plaster and antiseptic dressing, mado especially for tho profession, tho Benson's was comparatively now to mo. I had heard, however, of its merits as a romedy, in cases ofLamoBaok, Local Rheumatism, Neural gia. Congestion of tho Bronchial Tubos and Lungs. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and tho like affections, and have since begun to experi ment with it personally. I find BENSON'S CAPCINE PLASTER an exceptionally clean ly plaster to use. and rapid in its action. Many tests of its qualities, made in my own family and among my patients have convinc ed me that there is no single article so vain ablo for popular use, nor so helpful in the diseases I havo named. Should you desire to do so, you may use my name to that effect. Very truly yours, H.H.KANE,A.M..M,D. Tho genuine have the word CAPCINE cut in tho center. Price 23 conU.
