But your BENSON'S CAPCl X E POROUS PLAmTLR, has broken through the barriers and won it-' way to my good opinion. My attention was first called to it some eight months ago by a patient of mine Although I was well ac quainted with the superior excellence of your other plaster and antiseptic dreeing, made especially for the profession, tho Ben-'on s was comparatively new to me. 1 had heard, however, of its merits as a remedy, in case of Lamo Back, Local Rheumatism, eural gia. Congestion of tho Branchial Tubes and Lung'. Dyspepsia, Torpid Liver and the like affections, and have sinco begun to experi ment with it personally. I find BENSON'S CAPCTXE PLASTER an exceptionally clean ly plaster to use. and rapid in its action. Many tests of its qualities, msdo in my own family and among my patients have convinc ed me that there is no single article so valu able for popular uso, nor so helpful in the diseases I have named. LCT?JC- Dr. Albnn, of W.illa Walla, claims that the scarlet fever, so terribly af flicting the famih of Alexander Keed, was irausraillod in a letter. It ap- j pears that at Fort lvlamath, Or., the children of one of the officers sta-J tioned there were afl!cted with scar-i let fever in il? most dangerous form. "When the most critical phases of the disease had been passed, the mother of the children, who is a "warm personal friend of Mrs. Lieu tenant Edwards, wrote to the latter the news of the recover of her children. The letter was beautifully written, inspired as it was by a mother who had. literally speak ing, snatched her child from the very jaws of death. The nature of the letter and the beauty of its diction, made it of interest to every member of 3tTr. Reed's household, and as was natural under the circumstances it was passed from one to another to read. Just eight days from the date of receipt of the letter the dreaded disease made its appearance in the family in a very malignant form, car rying two of its victims to the grave. After further research, Dr. Allan dis covered the letter was written at the time when the cuticles were scaling from the eruptions on the body, a period of the disease when contagion is the most liable to occur. N. It. Strange, writing from Lone Pine "W. T.. to the Ease .Oregonian, says: A reliable man, just from the mines, February 12th, says the suow is very deep. No one doing anything on that account, only building houses and jumping claims and town lots. Everything seems to be on the speoulation. Pro visions are very high. Many are idle, and no prospects of work for months to come. People ought not to think of going to the mines before the 1st of ApriL One of my neighbors washed up $250 in six months and another S2000 in two months. Thoy did not make $25 to $10 per day as reported, and they say no one else did. Ex-. Oltomnnlc ilitri-j " "Rnil.nnlc z saloon and hotel men and others still try to get and keep up unreasonable reports. I hope all may think and consider well before they start. There are at present from 150 to 200 persons daily going into the mines. There are no roads nothing but trails to goover the mountains, banks, snow drifts and all the inconveniences that are ossible for the human flesh to undergo, and when there there is nothing to do. Says the Olmypia Ceurier: Near ly every "Washington territory ex change has some mention in regard to women acting as jurors. None of the practical workings have been manifested here.
