At a meeting of tho Astoria chamber of
commerce last evening it was voted that

stood that the Central Pacific intended to
compete with tho Northern Pacific in
carrvinc passengers, etc. between Port
land and points east, and that the North
ern Jracinc would do likewise from tho
east to San FranciBco. As has already
